Cyst in gum after root canal treatment and crown?!

Question: Cyst in gum after root canal treatment and crown!?
Had root canal treatment 6 months ago and a crown fitted afterwards!. Since then I've had pain in the crown area and sensitivity in the gum area above it!. Went to the dentist and he x-rayed my crowned tooth - says I have a cyst near the root of the tooth and have to have my gum cut open to remove it and clean the area!. Am I liable for the cost of this dental surgery as I feel that I've only had this problem as a consequence of the root canal treatment/crown fixing!? My dentist says he'll do it for half the original cost, but should I have to pay anything at all!? I am resident outside the UK and pay so much for my dental treatment!!!!
Thanks in advance!Www@Answer-Health@Com

A root canal is not a guaranteed procedure!. Each tooth is different so it is impossible to guarantee that each tooth will be fine/ fixed afterward!. This cyst is infection still present around the root!. This can be b/c there is an extra hidden canal somewhere in your tooth that your dentist is unable to find/treat and it is still causing some infection, or it can, most likely, be due to your bodies failure to clear the infection in your jaw!. After a root canal, your body must then initiate your immune system to clear out the infection still present in your jaw bone!. A root canal simply takes the cause away and then the body normally does the rest!. However, sometimes the body doesn't react properly for some reason or another (this happens most often in smokers/tobacco users I find)!. In this case, this isn't your dentists fault in any way at all!. It is your own bodies fault!. An apicoectomy/ cutting your gums open is required!. The first scenario is more difficult to point fingers b/c it really depends on how good your dentist is!. A dentist can perform a root canal perfectly, but hidden canals (missed canals) can cause this problem!. However, a dentist not performing quality work could have not properly done the root canal!. To be sure you would need to take your x-ray that was taken after the root canal was done and see an endodontist for a second opinion!. An endodontist is someone who specializes in root canal treatments!. He/she can tell you if it was done improperly!. Rarely, your tooth could have a crack in it causing this problem also which would have nothing to do with all scenarios!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes I would say you would have to pay but it is nice that he is offering you a discount!. With him offering you 50 percent off and then running it through your insurance (assuming you have it) it should not cost you too much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
