Can dissolvable stitches be black? (Wisdom teeth question)?!

Question: Can dissolvable stitches be black!? (Wisdom teeth question)!?
Hi there!.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed just over a week ago!.The surgeon used dissolvable stitches, all a flesh colour, apart from one which is black, a lot thicker than the others and no where near my wisdom teeth!.

I went for a check up with the Oral Surgeon yesterday and he removed a couple of the dissolvable stitches which were irritating my gums!. While I was there I asked him about the black one, he advised that the gum had to be folded back in this place to reach the tooth, which is why he had to put a stitch there, which makes perfect sense; I also asked him whether this was also a dissolvable stitch and he assured me it was!.

I'm sure he knows what he's talking about, but he didn't actually look at it at any time and I've never heard of a black dissolvable suture!. I know that they do come in varying strengths depending on how long they need to remain in place - is that possibly what this is or is it possible he's mistaken!?

Any advice appreciated :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

They are all disolvable!. The different colors indicate different diameters of "thread"!. Because of the depth and location of that particular stich, he had to use a thicker (stronger) stich!.

He knows they are all disovlable becuase that's all the has!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes stitches turn darker right before they fall out/dissolve!. This happened to me!. It should be ok just keep note of any further irritation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
