Question: Wisdom teeth taken out today!.!.!.!?
So I got my wisdom teeth out at around 8 this morning, and I'm recovering suprisinly fast!.!.!. The swelling had gone away within two or so hours and I'm not really all that drowsy!. My question is, when can I start eating real food!? Are the dentists worried about the stitches breaking or food getting caught in there or what!? It doesnt hurt that badly when I chew, and my tongue and lips work fine!.!.!. Any ideas!?
Oh yeah, and is it bad to feel around there with your tongue!? I can feel the stitches and it feels sort of weird but I want to make sure theres no food stuck back there or anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am glad to hear that you are doing well! Stay with soft diet that requires less chewing!. The first 24 hours is critical on what you do - DO NOT rinse (using an irrigation syringe first 24 hours can cause the clot to come off), NO NEGATIVE pressures in the mouth (drinking with a straw, spitting, smoking all cause a negative pressure)!. I got an oral syringe at the drug store and squirted mine out after eating but I didn't have stitches!. You're lucky, mine took about 2 weeks to heal and I was swollen for about a week!. They told me when the swelling was down and could eat, to go ahead and eat!. I'm sure you're on some kind of antibiotic, right!? If so, i wouldn't worry about infection if you just rinse good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Definitely go with what Stuart said!. You do not want to loose that clot that formed when the bleeding stopped!. It's the scab, and that's where the new tissue comes from and healing starts!. When it's 24hrs!. you can start rinsing with lukewarm salt water 4-5 times a day! Your dentist should've given you written instructions!. I had my lower left wisdom tooth extracted this morning (at 8 am too!!) and I am still oozing blood!. i wouldnt touch or mess around with the infected area, but thats just me!. i ate ice cream and pudding only on the right side of my mouth!. you should be 100% tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
