I don't understand why a tooth can't just be pulled instead of having ro!

Question: I don't understand why a tooth can't just be pulled instead of having root canal treatment!?
can somebody please explain!?

I had a deep filling done a few weeks ago and my dentist said if I still have pain i will have to have the tooth extracted!. She then broke my 'hopes' (so to speak) and said she will perform Root canal (root filling) instead of puling the tooth!.

What is the difference!? If I have the tooth pulled would I still have to have root canal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You can have a root canal OR have the tooth extracted!. If you are young it is in your best interest to try to save the tooth with a root canal!. Most root canals when done properly will last the rest of your life!.
If you have the tooth extracted you will have a space where other teeth can drift!. The lower or top teeth can also move up or down into this space!.
If you are nervous about the idea of having a root canal, you aren't alone!. I work in an endodontist office and that is all we do all day long!. Just make sure that you are good and numb!. The dentist will numb you up just like a filling!. After this make sure she waits about ten minutes!. After that period you will feel numb but have her tap on the tooth and maybe even put something cold on it to ensure that it is numb inside the tooth!.
Alot of time you can be numb everywhere except inside the tooth because the inside of the tooth is very inflamed!.
Once everything is good and numb you really don't have anything to worry about!. Take some music on your ipod because you will just be sitting there with your mouth open for about an hour!.

If you are worried about the competency of your dentist then see if your parents will schedule you with an endodontist!. If not then you should relax a little bit because afterwards you will be minus a tooth ache and still have a functioning tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have the tooth pulled, you won't need a root canal done!.
But, you want to save your tooth if you can, without pulling it!.
Root canals are not always the horrible things you have heard about in the past!. I know some dentists do these, and some are good at it, others may not be!. I would go to an Endodonist, who has studied longer and mostly performs only root canals!. They can be quite expensive, though!. I've had many root canals done and all of them were totally painless!.
You might ask your dentist if she has done root canals very much and get her to explain the procedure to you!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Root canal is killing the root of the tooth!. Hence you have no nerves feeding that tooth and no pain!. (if done successfully - some root canals do not work)!. You do not loose the tooth!.

When a tooth is pulled the root is completely removed, and the nerves and blood vessels are re routed!. There is a space and many dentists feel your teeth will shift if that space is not filled with an implant!.

I did not want a root canal 10 years ago, and I chose to have the tooth pulled!. (I am not great in the dentist's chair)!. So far my mouth has not changed at all!. The space is in the back and is not noticeable at all!. (depends what tooth you are talking about, as to your decision)

Good luck - hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
