Can I chew gum with a retainer?!
Question: Can I chew gum with a retainer!?
I'm getting them off in a about a week and I'm constantly chewing gum (yes, I know you're not suppose to!.) Do I have to drop the habit!? Or is it only possible when your retainer is out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a total gum addict and I always chewed gum when I had my braces, as well!. I got my braces off in December and wasn't sure about chewing gum with a retainer on either but I recently tried it out and it turns out, it doesn't make a difference!. I chew gum with my retainer all the time now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
With a classic wire retainer, no!. I guess its possible with the new plastic retainers though!. But you might only have to wear your retainer at night!. I only know 1 person of about the 40 people i know that had braces that had to wear their retainer during the day!. The rest only wore it at night!. I wear mine at night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well i dont know about the first answer!. I have to wear my retainer 24/7 for a full year before I can switch to nights only!. The ortho told me to eat with mine in as well!. I dont do that because its uncomfortable!. I was chewing sugar free gum with it in yesterday and i was fine!. I surely couldnt blow a bubble and sometimes the gum tried to pull the metal wire down!. I dunno!.!.!.but i really hate this retainer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a constant gum chewing bubble blower and I suggest orbit (doesn't stick for me) I wear my retainer 24/7 and have for 2 years (fake tooth attached haha) Make sure you brush it off good at night because it could get some white buildup!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
