When should I get my teeth bleached if I am getting a dental implant?!

Question: When should I get my teeth bleached if I am getting a dental implant!?
I am a former smoker and a current coffee drinker, so my teeth are a bit stained!. I recently cracked a tooth (#5, behind the eye tooth) badly enough that it had to be extracted, and I'm still healing from the extraction!.

Before the crack, I'd been planning to do in-office whitening (like Zoom)!.

When should I do it!? If I wait until after I get the implant, will the implant bleach to match my teeth!? Or should I do it now, and have them match the implant to the bleached teeth!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just remember as soon as your natural teeth start to discolour, it is going to make your implant tooth very noticable, so probably not a good idea to go with a really white implant-unless your happy to keep a strict teeth whitening schedule!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am going through major dental work - vaneers, implants, the whole nine yards to get the perfect smile! This is what I have learned thus far!.

You need to get you teeth bleached after your extraction heals and before they put in the implant!. You can have the implant made whatever color you want so you want to get your teeth as white as you can get them and then have them match the implant to your teeth!. THat way your implant matches your new whiter teeth and doesn't stick out!.

Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should get the bleaching after your surgery, but before they make the permanent crown to cover the implant!. That way they can match the new tooth to the bleached color!. The crown is going to be made with porcelain and that material will not change color!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
