Question: Are braces haram!?
My granddaughter has had braces for 2 years because her teeth were crooked, were very close together,and of her other teeth problems!.

Well, it is recommended to have braces at the age from 7 to 14 because the teeth are still growing! The teeth of your grandmother have already fully developed so it will take longer for her if she does have braces!. Usually 3-4 years, I know the numbers are high but that's the way it is!.
The nerve in her tooth is also starting to shrink away which could cause less pain when performing surgery!. So for her its OK! Good shes not in her mid-30s, she would have a lot of pain with them on her teeth for a very long period of time!.
So I don't really think that its harm-full for her at all!. If the dentist approved it and put them on, that means it ok!.
