Hopefully not!! I think there are some very good dentists out there as well as some who are not as good!. Really bad ones are probably the minority!. Yes, a lot of dental procedures are horrid, there really is no other way to disguise the fact!. But I doubt that dentists do the job just because they like to put the fears into people!.
Mind you, I have had the misfortune to have a dentist once who's favourite film had to have been Marathon Man!. Put me off for years! Also had one dentist who put the slow drill on the slowest setting - horrid! And one who was probably fed up with the job and also I suspect liked Marathon Man! But, most dentists I have had have been great!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wanna be a dentist but I can't really explain why!. I guess it is because loads of people dislike their dentists and i wanna be a friendly dentist that will make people WANT to come to the dentist (k, maybe thats not the right word!.!. but make people feel 'safe' i guess)
its also because i'm interested in teeth and how the mouth works!.!.!.!.!.i guess

You must be jokin Christin, my local dentist enjoyed taking out all my top teeth, gave me a gold covered one as a prize, then asked if i needed false teeth, when they came it took 3 different types of molds to get it right, then he suddenly left quick because others at his surgery started to complain!. Be a Dentist,!? Never dear, I would get jaw ache all and every day remembering all the jabs and mess i had to go through!. These days I make sure my bottom teeth are always cleaned!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Caitlin your words could not be more scary to me!.!.!.!.!.I'm suffering with an ache that im trying to endure until my next appointment in two weeks, i can't bear to go earlier so am suffering this misery inducing throb until then!. One bonus though as food of any varying temperature cannot be entertained so im losing weight! hooray!!

Nope!. I have a raging toothache, caused by a broken wisdom tooth right now!. My advocate (I have severe MH problems) is trying to sorth me out with a dentist that does home visits - I can't go to a surgery because of my phobia!.
The pain's so bad at the moment, I've thrown up twice!. No OTC painkiller has eased it in the slightest!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm at the dentist tomorrow, he keeps saying "you don't need anaesthetic do you , it'll be quicker without it and it won't hurt much" do they all go to a school for liars, and he never even gave me a lollipop!.

I am afraid I never relish a trip to the dentist!. They do a worthwhile and necessary job however!. I am sure many dentists are very kind and sympathetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
