I'm getting braces and the doctor says I need to get 2 teeth taken out?!

Question: I'm getting braces and the doctor says I need to get 2 teeth taken out!?
I think he said 2 molars not sure on the name but what I'm confused about is after I get them taken out and I get braces!. I will be having 2 teeth missing from the top, and the gaps will look pretty weird!. I guess I can try to not smile a lot but anyways what I'm wondering how does this work do they normally move the back teeth more towards the front to cover the gaps!? Also wouldnt this affect the way I eat if my back teeth are moved and how long do you think it will take to cover the gaps!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first time I went to an orthodontist he told me that two teeth needed to be removed from the top in order to create space so the teeth would have room to move BUT i went to a different one and now I have braces and no teeth removed!. My orthodontist prefered to use an expander on top and bottom to expand my bite and therefore make room in the front for my teeth to move!. Sometimes having teeth removed can create gaps and also make your bite more narrow!. Go to a different orthodontist for a second opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dentist needs to remove two teeth because if they do not, there is not enough room in your jaw for your teeth to straighten out!. All of your teeth will probably shift--the back and the front, but the dentist can control the shift with the tension of the braces!.
They remove two so that there is one on each side!. this way all your teeth have the ability to spread out and it's not as noticable!. A friend of mine just had that done and if she hadn't told me that she had the pulled, I wouldn't have noticed!. There were no gaps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had 4 permanent teeth removed because my mouth was too small and then braces and yes, the teeth are moved to take up the gap!. Eating should not be a problem - they usually removed bicuspids rather than molars but I don't know the particulars of your situation!. I honestly cannot remember how long it took to close the gap!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

GET A CONSULTATION FROM ANOTHER DENTIST AS WELL!.

my dentist almost removed 4 of my teeth and i went to another dentist and he told me that it was a REALLY bad move!.

make sure you go to two dentists about something that drastic, you can't get teeth back!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your orthodontist has a plan!. Don't fret because everything will be okay!. My sister had to have a few teeth pulled before braces as well!. The gap will get closed when your orthodontist moves some of the other teeth that are crowded in the gap and then the gap will be gone!. Don't worry about the gap, You will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I work at a dental office, and it is very common to have the molars taken out!. Specifically the 4's, the teeth right after the canines!. It is to make more room in your mouth to straighten the teeth, and if crowding is an issue!. I myself had 4 of my molars removed before I got my braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the braces should bring the back teeth into the gap!. so that the back of your mouth has a gap!. not the place where the teeth got taken out!.
for me about half of the gap has been covered overwith teeth in about half a year!. so it will take about 1 year for the teath to cover the gapWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had 4 - 2 top 2 bottom, plus my wisdom teeth later on so thats 8 teeth taken out in total and I'm fine!. The braces pull the teeth together so you don't have a gap, plus it makes room for when you do get your wisdom teeth in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The basic purpose to wear braces is to align them properly!. In order to make space for alignment tooth extraction is necessary!. So trust on your dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got braces later in life, they took 2 of my teeth out!. Now my face looks different from before!. I looked at pictures before I had braces and my face was fuller, now it looks weird in the cheeks, a little sunken in!. I think that pulling teeth and moving them will effect the shape of your face!. If your face is round you may be ok, but I have a narrow face to begin with and this made it even narrower!. Well good luck, braces are a real pain, and very embarrassing when you wear head gear to bed!. I was dating someone at the time and put the head gear on after he went to sleep, he would always turn the light on me and have a good laugh!. Now I have straight teeth but they made my gums receed!. More money more money!. Then after they are done they put a permanent wire on the back, this is more annoying than the braces because your tongue will always rub against it!. Thats all for now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
