I have a bump on the roof of my mouth?!

Question: I have a bump on the roof of my mouth!?
So I went to the dentist to get a cavity filled Tuesday!. When I went, the dental assistant, gave me the meds to numb it, and it went too deep!. My heart rate went up, and I was all shaky!. But it went back to normal quickly after that, the dentist said it was normal!. After the procedure, I noticed my right eye was numb and my sight was blurry!. Then my ear and nose went numb, on the right side of my mouth!. My ear stayed numb the rest of the day!. The tooth that got filled was bottom right!. Yesterday, I noticed a bump that formed on the roof my mouth, It hurts a little, but not a lot!. I'm prone to getting ulcers in my mouth, but it doesn't feel like an ulcer!. Is it something I should be concerned about!? Is it even related to the dental visit!? Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The heart rate can go up with local anesthesia(Novacaine) when a little bit of it gets into your blood stream!. It is not harmful, but it produces a bit of an anxiety attack type feeling!. This is due to the epinephrine in the anesthetic that makes it last long enough for the procedure!. It happens once in a while and most people have a few minutes that they have a "fight or flight" response that mimicks a panic attack!. The eye, nose and ear numb is also something that happens once in a while!. This is all normal and NOT due to bad technique or otherwise bad dentistry!. It seems to happen more often to patients that are very nervous to start with, as their adrenaline levels are already very high!. It sounds as if the bump is most likely an ulcer and will go away within 1-2 weeks or check with your dentist if it lasts longer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hope you meant that the Dental HYGIENIST gave you the injection, since they have formal training Local Anesthetic Injections and extensive knowledge of the anatomy of the head and are LICENSED by the state board to preform this procedure!. It is ILLEGAL of a Dental ASSISTANT to give Local Anesthetic injections, since they have no formal training in giving injections and only minimal knowledge of the anatomy of the head!.!.!.so they can't get a license to do this procedure!.

Otherwise, the answer from "smoh" covered you question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hate the dentist for reasons like this!. It has to be related to what they did!. But I wouldn't let me give you that shot again!. You might allergic to it, they gave you too much of it, or they poked you in the wrong spot!. If it doesn't go away in a couple days i would def!. go see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It more than likely is related to whatever hell you unfortunately had to suffer through due to improper and careless technique, but other than that, if it gets worse, schedule another appointment and make sure to assertively express your discontent with the quality of their procedure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
