Ok, I am having 4 adult teeth pulled..?!

Question: Ok, I am having 4 adult teeth pulled!.!.!?
I am getting four adult bicuspids pulled!. I cannot be put to sleep, I am just getting a numbing injection!. My question is does it hurt the moment it pops out of your mouth!? My second question is what exactly happens when you get them pulled out!?

Any stories of your teeth getting pulled would be nice!.

First: when you get into the dental chair request to have nitrous-oxide (laughing gas!.) If your parents allow this, the dentist will put a little mask on your nose and you will breath the gas for a few minutes!. This will calm you down and make the appointment easier for you!.

Second: The dentist will get you numb--yes, this is a shot,
But before you panick, let me tell you that the assistant will usually place a gel on the gums that will numb the tissue before the shots are given--this helps a lot!. It is just a small pinch--you probably won't feel it too much!.

Third: When you are numb the dentist uses an instrument to loosen the gums away from the teeth, then elevates the teeth with a straight metal instrument that he places at the base of the tooth and gently pries the tooth up!.

Fourth: The dentist will use forceps (dental pliers) to get a hold on the tooth and lift it the rest of the way out of the bone!.
You will hear crackling noises and feel lots of pressure but NO pain!.

Fifth: the dentist or assistant will place gauze in your mouth over the sockets where the teeth were removed and have you bite tight on them!. This will help the area form a blood clot!. Then they will explain what to do and what not to do to help heal the area!.

You may have some discomfort when the numbness wears off but that can be controlled with Tylenol or Advil given by a parent!. Sometimes the doctor will prescribe pain meds but not always for kids!.

I think you will be surprised how fast and easy the teeth come out and how little discomfort you will have afterward!.

Relax!.!.!. It will be okay!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had teeth pulled the only thing that hurts is when they inject the numbing stuff!. i suggest telling them to put just a little in to start with and then once its healed you wont feel them putting the rest in!. i have had so many mouth surgery's trust me!. also you cant feel anything they do after they numb you, pain wise that is you can feel pressure but that's it and it doesn't hurt!. it will hurt a little after the numbing stuff wears off but that is why they give you the pain killers!. good luck!. any other questions contact me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same teeth pulled out for my braces!. I just got freezing, and all I felt for 3/4 of the teeth was a slight pressure!. I was surprised the teeth came out so easily!.

On the last tooth though, there was a lot more pressure and the dentist said it was the an unusually hard extraction!. She had to really use leverage so my whole mouth was feeling the pressure!. In the end it's not a big deal, the dentist will put gauze in the sockets and you'll have to change them for a day or two!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had four adult teeth pulled back in January and it hurt like crazy!!! no I'm kidding! the only pain you'll feel is when they give you the shots to numb your mouth!. I felt no pain at all after that!. I didn't even know that they were done!.

ok story time! after they pulled my teeth they stuffed my mouth with gauze and my mouth couldn't close, and I could barely talk!. so my mom told me to go get a scarf to cover up my mouth with!. so I walk into general dollar and the whole time, the lady behind the register kept looking at me, so when I get up to the counter, she looks at me and goes "Whats wrong with you!?!!?" LOL!.

so then I rememberd about the sale at the shoe store at the mall that was gonna be over that evening!. so I beggd my mom to take me and she gave in and after being there for about fifteen minutes, I look down and I was bleeding thru the gauze and the scarf and blood and drool were all over my clothes and I was so embarrassed bcuz I was so numb that I couldn't feel a thing! but I got the shoes lol :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just had my wisdom teeth pulled out and I was put under gas, numbing stuff, and anistesia (sp)!. It didnt hurt, but it hurts for a few days or so afterwards!. You might have swelling though, so lots of ice, maybe a big bag of peas!? :) (wrap it in a towel, i know a lot of people say dont wrap it but you have to or else you could cause damage to yourself!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had those same 4 teeth removed prior to getting braces!. I am positive it was traumatic right before it happened, but years later i can't even remember it!. i do know it feels like a lot of pressure but it doesnt hurt!. Your gums will be sensitive, just like when you lost your baby teeth! Don't fear, you will come out alright!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah i agree you will feel the pressure, but if you numbed fully, you shouldn't feel any pain!.!.!.!.!.!. until the novicane wears off that is!.!.!.!. then it will throb!.!.!.!.i had my wisdom teeth out, and several of my baby teeth had ot be pulled when i was younger!.!.!.!.

hopefully they give you some pain meds, but OTC stuff should work fine!.!.!. its not that bad!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok seriously relax!. Its not the most pleasant moment!. I have had my teeth pulled twice!. Once when I was 8 and i had six baby teeth pulled and again when i was 13, i think the same surgery your going to have!. I stupidly said i didn't want to be put out!. I didn't even want to feel the injection so i had them put rubbing novaicane on my gums then inject my gums!. It lasted probably 45 minutes!. They use some tools, and digg out the tooth!. The entire time you really have no idea what is really going on because your mouth is completly numb!. The teeth don't really pop out though!. The guy who did mine said for each tooth," 1!.!.!.2!.!.!.3, u feel a little bit of pressure!."I didn;t even relize that halfway through i managed to ask the assistant when they are going to start and she said that already two teeth are out already!. After i was done they moved me into another room with a mouth full of gauss they they replaced every 5 minutes!. The biggist problem was that i was so numb that i was drooling everywhere!. The numbing is by far the worst part!. It didn't go away for eight hours!. I was sitting trying to distract myself infront of the tv with a drool bucket!. Don't think that this is a big deal, my dentist did it right in the examination room!. Look idea is this isen't the worst and most dangerous surgery espically since your not going under!. My biggist advice is have somthing that can get you to zone out after your surgery like tv, video games, movie somthing that gets you to not focus on it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
