Can you get a filling/root canal in the UK with general anaesthetic?!

Question: Can you get a filling/root canal in the UK with general anaesthetic!?
I've got a few reasons why I want it!. One is that it's on a side of my jaw that has titanium plates in, another is that I have a bone conduction hearing aid and since then, any fillings in my face have hurt like hell, even with local and sedation!. Mainly because my head vibrates and I pick up on that 100x worse!

I know it'd have be done in a hospital, but do you reckon they'd do it if I insisted!? I'm an NHS patient undergoing MaxFax care (braces Tuesday I hope and jaw surgery) and I have a MaxFax file as long as my forearm!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is hard to get it for ordinary extractions let alone fillings these days!. Primary Care Trusts restrict it a lot because of cost and potential risk (mainly cost IMHO)!. I may have to have a wisdom tooth out eventually and I was told it was discouraged even for that as it would only be one!. Given the choice I would definitely want gas for anything like that!.

I think if you are undergoing jaw surgery you should get it, but if you are having the fillings done separately it might be a problem!. No harm in trying though as you do have special circumstances!. Don't allow yourself to be fobbed off!. Severely needlephobic patients can still get it for extractions I think!. I think they have to justify the cost in some way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
