sorry to hear that can you or have you tried talking to your dentist saying basically what you feel and what you would like to have done, sometimes its hard for them cause they will do what they can, have you taken and been willing to take advise he's given you in the past!? If you have gum disease then your dentist should be showing good effort in treying to help you keep that at bay by his treatment and advice for you at home eg cleaning etc,if you have or do all this and still the same see if you can transfer to other dentist in same place if you feel you could or if there is another one there,or move practices but make sure you have told him after trying that you are not happy as he must take this seriously!. Hope this helps hun!.GoodluckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Well, yes and no!.

Cosmetic dentistry can include white fillings!. White fillings can only be placed under the NHS on your first premolar (the 4) the canine (3), the lateral incisor (2) and the central incisor (1)!. That goes for the upper and the lower and whether they are necessary!.

The only time that composite (white) fillings are placed on molar teeth is that if it is clinically necessary!.

If you have gum disease then you can control it by regular flossing, brushing, mouthwash and visits to the dentist!.

If its more severe then it may be necessary to be referred to a periodontist but unfortunately not free!.

However, you can apply to a Dental Hospital/School for free treatment but aslong as you aren't registered with an NHS dentist!.

So basically the answer is that you can have certain cosmetic dentistry on the NHS but generally No!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry to hear that!.

Talk to your dentist and tell them how concerned you are and explain what you would like done to your teeth!.

This is something only your dentist can answer since I've never wanted cosmetic dentistry

May i also add that you may want to be a bit more precise about what your teeth are like!. You say "a mess" but this could be anythingWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm in exactly the same position! I haven't been to the dentist for years out of embarrassment but only recently re-registered!. I think they are likely to carry out something if your a really urgent case otherwise, some dentists do private work!.!.!.!.for a "small" fee of course!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, the NHS only covers work which is necessary, it will not pay for anything which is considered cosmetic!. That's up to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are a minor, you can get orthodontic treatment on the NHS, otherwise, you have no chance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you truly have gum disease and your dentist doesn't seem concerned I say it's time to get a different dentist,Www@Answer-Health@Com

u can change ur dentistWww@Answer-Health@Com
