my Orthodontist wants to make a space for my missing tooth a canine!. I was wondering how long does the implant procedure take!?!?!?!? And how long does it take to usually heal!?!?!? WIll the tooth look like my others!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Takes about an hour to have the "post" part of the implant to be placed, and takes anywhere from 3-6 months to heal depending on how much bone you have in the area!. Sometimes a bone graft needs to be placed, and that's what takes a while - the new bone has to intergrate into the space!. If you already have a space where the implant is going to be placed, likely you will get to skip the grafting part!.
After the post has had time to heal, you'll go back to the dentist to have the "male" part of the implant ( the part that sticks up out of the bone ) placed, and a crown made!.
It will look and function just like your other teeth, only you won't feel hot,cold,sweet or sour on this "tooth"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Implants are a 3-6 month procedure depending on which method they use!. The 2 step procedure involves placing the actually base of the implant into the bone and covering it up to allow for the bone to surround the structure!. 3 months later they uncover the surgery site and place the actually implant (crown or tooth portion)!. The one step procedure is done all in one stage!. If you implant is in the upper jaw, it will take 3 months to heal, if it is done on the lower jaw, it will take 6 months to heal because the upper jaw bone is less dense than the lower!. With today's modern technology, the implants will look like the rest of your other teeth depending on the material that they use determines how close they match!. The average person will not know the difference unless the tooth is in the front and people know before that you didnt have a tooth there!. Even then it will look normal and no one will know the difference!. Average people dont know to look to see if you have all of your teeth by name so they wont know that there is now a canine there!. the implant need to heal for at least 6-9 months before adding the abutment that the crown hooks on!. getting an implant is about as long as having a baby!. it takes that long to "engage" the implant!. as far as looking like other teeth, it looks like any other teeth that you have had crowned!. completely natural!. it is a great option for replacing missing teeth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Actually getting dental implants now depends on who you go to!. My dental implants are immediate load!. So I got my implants and my teeth attached in one day!. There are other ways where they make you wear a partial tooth for up to 3 months for the lowers and up to possibly 6 months for the uppers!.
