ok,so i am thinking of getting braces!.!.but i heard its very painful when getting them!.Can they put you to sleep when your getting them!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, they are not painful AT ALL!. You don't feel ANY pain putting them on!. It's pretty much like cleaning your teeth or just touching your teeth!. All they do is put glue and the bracket on the tooth, they don't drill into it or anything!. Does painting your nails hurt!? Because it's almost the same thing!. The painful part is AFTER you get them on, maybe in a couple hours!. Well, that's what i've heard anyways, mine never hurt at all!. No pain, just discomfort and it was hard to chew food!. The procedure associated with getting braces will not hurt!. The dentist or orthontist will:
* Hold your tongue and lips back with a plastic retractor to stop them getting in the way, then an etching agent is applied to get your teeth ready for braces
* The they put the brackets on, make sure there are where they should be and cure it with a plasma light
* After this they will put in the wire and coloured bands!.
It would not be necessary to put you to sleep for this as getting them on does not hurt but pressure will start to be felt as the body temperature activated wire heats up!

noo they're not going to put u to sleep!. its really not that painful like ppl saiy it is!. i had braces and they dont really hurt its just when they put them there is alot of pressure on ur teeth and when they tighten them up every month but they're not painfulWww@Answer-Health@Com
HAHAHA it barely hurt when I got my braces on it was uncomfortable but it didn't hurt but it will hurt after and you can't get put to sleep for when you have you're braces on after hahahaWww@Answer-Health@Com
Not usually!. Do not worry!. It is NOT painful to get them on!. They will, however, start hurting later!. (And motrin works wonders for that!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com
