How long does a root canal take and are you asked to stay home the next day (fro!

Question: How long does a root canal take and are you asked to stay home the next day (from work/school)!?
this may be a dumb question, but im in a really intense summer physics class and i cant miss one lecture, but i crack two molars almost in half and the nerve is exposed with lots and lots of pain to go with it (so much fun!)!. does anyone know how long the procedure itself takes (generally, i know everyones situation is different) and if you are kind of homebound the day after like some people are with their wisdom teeth or do they prescribe painkillers and youre good to go asap!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
My root canal took about an hour!. They drill to the nerve and remove it (that's the part that hurts) then clean some of the dentin out, put in some rubber bumpers and seal it up!. The nerve is now gone and so is the pain!. Don't be afraid!.!.!.it probably hurts worse now then it will during the procedure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no you will not have to stay at home , you may however have a tooth ache which will say for a while!.
Pain killers will help!.
However on your second or third visit you usually dont hurt!.
the procedure can be done in 2-3 visits depending on the case!.
some take longer if they have an infection, and filling a root canal is done after the infection has been dealt with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had root canals that took as little as an hour and half start to finish and my longest was spanned over 4 days start to finish!. Clearly when there is no infection or other major problems it is a quicka dn relativly painless procedure!. Once you are givent he needle you do not feel anything and when it wears off it isn't so much pain but it does feel off for a little, sometimes it hurts though depending on how far in the needle went when you get it in your jaw, I have had that part hurt after the numbing wore offWww@Answer-Health@Com
