My hygienist said there's a lot of calculus on my teeth (question involved)?!

Question: My hygienist said there's a lot of calculus on my teeth (question involved)!?
I just went to my dentist for a usual six-month checkup and the hygienist said that there's a lot more calculus and bleeding on my teeth than in the past!. She said my mouth had really changed!. I told her it's that probably at night, twice a week I don't brush/floss (although in the morning I do brush)!. She said that must be the reason!. Looking back, I'm wondering if the problem is that I started eating a lot more candy!. (But this time I had zero cavities)!. Could it be because of the candy that during the cleaning there was a lot more bleeding and more calculus!?

thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Based on the summation of infinitesimal differences (sorry for the bad pun), your calculus buildup can be due to a combination of inadequate brushing and generous secretion of saliva that dries on the teeth!. Are you a mouth breather!?

I don't think it is the candy that causes the tartar!.

There are some good electric toothbrushes that do a great job of cleaning the teeth!. My wife and I, in a rare agreement, like one made by Oral B!. Sonicare advertises them a lot, but I have not tried their models!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello, Chances are the candy has had no real responsibility for what is going on with your mouth and the added calculus!. While the failure to brush and floss everyday can and will provide an opportunity for calculus to build up, what you describe sounds more like an issue of an unhealthy diet change!. The candy can of course be part of it but I suspect that your overall diet is much different than it was in the past when you went in for tooth cleanings!. You need to re valuate your food choices with regard to a balanced healthy diet and for the short term you need to immediately begin to take a "One -a day" daily vitamin that contains vitamins A>B>C>D>E and Zinc!. The pharmacist can tell you the best one to take!.!.!.Good luck and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
