i got my braces off a couple weeks ago, and i have been pretty good w/ keeping the retainer in all the time, but sumtimes i forget them at home and cant wear it for the wwhhoollee day!. how long will it take for ur teeth to shift if you dont have ur retainers in long enough!?!? cuz i do not want that 2 happen!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

the simple answer is really that your teeth will shift a little bit, or a lot, over time, if you do not wear your retainers!. as you have only recently had your braces off, your dentist will have probably advised you to keep the retainers on all the time- if you cant do this, then i would suggest if you want to keep your teeth where they are now, to wear your retainers for as long as you can!.!.!. nobody can force you to wear them if you dont want to, but the orthodontist has done all the work he can- nobody can keep your teeth as straight as they are now apart from you - wearing your retainers

I always do that and when you get home just put it in it might be tight for 5-10 minutes but then it will losen up and be normal!. Just try not to do it a lot and you will be fine!. My dentist told me i had to wear it for 6 months all the time but my friend got hers off and then she went straight to nights so it must not matter all that much how long you go before you switch to nights!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
