Metallic taste in mouth and gums bleeding?!

Question: Metallic taste in mouth and gums bleeding!?
Greetings,
Within the past week or so, I've been having excessive (i!.e!. every time I attempt to brush my teeth, even very gently, my gums immedietely bleed and appear red and swollen) gum bleeding!. I wash out my mouth with water or mouthwash and still have this gross taste in my mouth all the time!. I have some dental issues (a temporary medicated filling that may require a root canal) and am seeing my dentist on June 28/08!. However, my dental issues were long-standing over the past eighteen months and never has the gum bleeding, sensitivity, or taste been this bad!. I haven't changed my routine at all in terms of brushing, flossing, different paste etc!. The metallic taste in my mouth seems constant, even after I've rinsed and cleaned thoroughly!. I'm quite nervous about going to the dentist (having a cleaning and a general check up this week) as I know it will likely be painful and there will be a lot of bleeding!.
Please advise, Thanks in advance!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The impotant thing is that you are seeing the dentist!. He will be able to tell you if its a result of plaque build-up or infection!. What he wont be able to tell you is if its due to a blood disorder or a result of vitamin/ mineral deficiency!. Hence, if the dentist shrugs his shoulder, your primary care physican should to be your next course of action!.

The metalic taste could be the iron in the blood!. I would note that metalic taste in the mouth is also sometimes associated with heavy metal toxicity!. It might not hurt to ask the doctor to do a test to determine your HM levels!. This is especially relevant for mercury if you have silver amalgams!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

sounds like gum disease!.!.!.!.!.GO to the dentist!!!!!!!!.!.!.!.!.!.!.the longer you wait, the worse it gets!.!.!.!.!.!.you may need a root scaling, etc!. to get rid of the problem!.!.!.!.!.!.!.no need to do a lot of dental work at the dental office if you don't have a solid foundation with your gums!.!.!.!.if you have a good dentist, they won't do any other work until this is completed, unless it's an emergencyWww@Answer-Health@Com

This could be caused by a number of things!.!.!.!.yes, hormonal imbalance by being PG is one!. The only way to find out is at your docs office, not here!. Before you go, just continue with what you are doing now but try soaking your toothbrush in hot water for a few minutes before you use it to help soften up the bristles!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could be developing gingivitis, which causes both bleeding gums and the metallic taste!. "Gingivitis usually clears up after a professional cleaning as long as you continue to follow a program of good oral hygiene at home" (http://www!.mayoclinic!.com/health/gingivi!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The metallic taste could be from the blood, so I would say that the real problem is the bleeding, not the taste!. Follow the source link, it has lots of information about what can cause gum bleeding!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
