Brace - Lips..?!
Question: Brace - Lips!.!.!?
Had my brace fitted on Monday and my lips are incredibly swollen, dry and chapped!. Is this normal!? I also cant shut my mouth very easily!. How long untill I can shut my mouth and my lips recover!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately, it is normal!. Your mouth just hasn't gotten stretched out yet!.
Try keeping lip balm on them constantly and also make sure you stay hydrated!. Drink lots and lots of water!! Water really is the best thing!.!.!.
Your mouth will stretch out fully in a couple of weeks, max!. It is normal for you almost not to be able to close your mouth, but this will calm down after your lips learn how to move over the brackets and such!.!.!.

It's normal, I remember that time quite well even though it was years ago now that I had braces!. It's not fun at first, but you get used to the braces a lot quicker than you think, and you'll be able to close your mouth properly soon!. Use lip balm for your lips and you'll be used to them in no time, the discomfort doesn't last long!. Good luck with it!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Keep your lips moisturised with vaseline or a suitable lip balm!. I'd give it about a week before everything starts to settle down!. In the meantime, keep eating soft foods!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
