how long does it take till you acctually get them on, like after all the check ups and appointments!?
Does it hurt really bad!?

Answers:
1) first visit: consult & fees/financing (if applicable) is discussed; then, 2nd visit (or could be 1st too): photos, impressions of upper and lower arches, and x-rays are taken; then, brackets and arch wires are put on!. In some cases (based on your schedule and dentist's schedule) this procedure could be done in 1 visit!. Ideally, though, there has to be some time for the dentist to study your teeth & mouth condition b4 proceeding with the work; but experienced and seasoned dentists can do it all in one seating, given the time!.
2) hmmm, it's a case to case basis!. Others, experience pain for several days and, believe it or not, there are others who are ok with it!. One thing is true, there is pain in the beginning that lasts for a few days or so, the first time it is put on!.!.!. as the tth start to move!. There will be some tenderness when teeth come together that's why, it's a little hard to eat!. But again, it's a case to case basis!.!.!. I don't remember having that much pain!.!.!. it was a breeze for me!.
3) After the braces are put on, wait for AT LEAST a day before eating food; liquid diet (protein shakes and super mushy food) would do!. The cement used to attach the brackets should set completely!. Otherwise, you can weaken the cement and the brackets become loose in a few days; which means that you have to go back to your dentist to re-cement brackets that came off!. You don't want hassles like this!.!.!. Anyway, with braces, stay away from hard, crunchy, sticky, gummy food!. You may want to slice your fruits like apples, etc!. No corn on the cob pls!.
Hey, no worries, if you will have braces, just get on with it!.!.!. it's not that hard!. Get it over with!. You'll get along with it and find your own ways of chewing and enjoying food again!.
4) Hmmm, i did not pay for my braces, a dentist friend of mine did it for me for free!.!.!. Braces ranges from $2,000 - $8,000 or more for other dentists with specialty!. Shop around for a dentist!. Ask your friends who had or have braces about their dentists / orthodontist!. Know how much money you can shell out!. Having insurance helps a lot!. Ask about financing!. Find out how long your treatment is going to be and the possibility of spreading the payment throughout the course of treatment!.
5) Braces are tightened up in 2 weeks or 1 month, etc!. This depends on who you're going to!. Different dentists using different techniques (though achieving same results) have their own time schedule!. Majority of dentists do see their ortho patients for tightening and check-up every month!.

No, it doesn't hurt getting them put on at all, maybe just a little uncomftorable having to keep your mouth open for what seems like hours as they put them on :P if you have to get spacers put on first, they will make your teeth very sore for the first couple of days!. Also, your mouth will be a little sore when you get your braces on at first as well but not as bad!.

Nothing TOO sticky or hard, they say you can't chew gum but I always do and never had a problem with it!.

Hm, sorry, I'm not sure my mom was the one that payed lol, but I know they were pretty expensive!.

No, it doesn't hurt getting them put on at all, maybe just a little uncomftorable having to keep your mouth open for what seems like hours as they put them on :P if you have to get spacers put on first, they will make your teeth very sore for the first couple of days!. Also, your mouth will be a little sore when you get your braces on at first as well but not as bad!.

to get them on after consultation dedicate about 1 to 2 hours, because they have to glue every bracket on and then wait for it to dry and then fit you with a wire its a whole production!.
then its about 2 years till you get them off, on average you get them tightened up every month and then they change your wires, readjust your brackets and put new ties, and other additonal things to make perfect teeth!.
they tell you you cant eat this and this but you can pretty much eat whatever you want, and it only hurts when you first get them on, when they try to realign your teeth and when your get new wires!. there really isnt that much pain involved, you will have maybe 3 whole days worth of pain out of 2/3 years!. its not that bad

Hi! Answer#1: Well if you will complete all the requirements including the dental xray, it will take you a week or two to get the braces on!.
#2: At first, it will hurt bad, coz your mouth will have sores due to the metal braces, but after sometime the pain will be gone!. It will be painful again if your dentist will adjust the wires after a month!.
#3: You need to avoid hard foods like chips, crackers etc!. At first, you will be adviced to take soft diet, like oatmeal, cereals, soft bread etc!.
#4: I payed almost $900 for it, 2 years ago!. It might be much higher this time!.
#5: Monthly check-ups & adjustments are scheduled once a month or everytime you're having a problem with your braces!.

dont really remember!. depends if you have all your adult teeth!. if you have them all you should be able to get them on pretty much straight away, i had to wait a while before i got mine because i had a couple of baby teeth to come out!.

it hurts for a day or 2 when you first get them on quite badly, hurts to eat etc!. and then it hurts a bit when you get them tightened but i didnt find it too horrible!.

you are meant to stay away from sugary foods but i ate what i normally eat and when i got them off my teeth werent stained!. when drinking it helps to drink through a straw if you are drinking juice or soft drinks because then the acid doesnt get on your teeth as much!.

i think it was about $3000 (australian dollars) but if you have private health insurance you wont have to pay it all
