Question: What to expect at private orthodontist consultation!?

I've got my consultation for getting my braces at a private orthodontist in 2 weeks!
Really excited!
Just wondering what I should expect at this 1st visit!? ie - what is going to happen!.

If it's just an initial consultation he might not actually do much!. He will examine your teeth and your bite (the way your teeth fit together)!. You'll be asked to open and close a few times!. He might measure the distance between top and bottom teeth, if your top teeth are too far forward!. He will probably take photos of you with a "straight" face, your natural smile and your profile!. He'll probably give you a rough idea of what would be possible for you and what would be involved (extractions, elastics, or even surgery if your case warrants it)!.
Unless you tell him there and then that you want to go ahead, he might not do moulds or X-rays!. Usually they don't do those until you have definitely said you want to go ahead!. He'll probably then send you a proposed treatment plan in the post with possible options and the expected cost, then it's upto you to decide whether to go ahead!.

The first visit to the orthodontist I had a mould taken of my top set of teeth (they decided during the visit my bottom teeth were straight) and was told to come back a week later to fix the brace!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
