How to clean infected tooth socket?!

Question: How to clean infected tooth socket!?
Hi, I had a tooth pulled out on Monday 23rd June, it was quite a big tooth, 3rd one in from the back of my mouth, bottom jaw right hand side!.
I have spoken to my dentist who said I need to come and have it cleaned, but I am unable to get to the dentist!.
What would be the best way to clean the infected area!?
The area is not inflammed, it is just leaking out a small ammount of puss, it smells quite bad and my mouth tastes horible!.

I have been using warm salt water to rinse out my mouth and then I grab a piece of tissue and roll it into a spike and dip it into the salt water and then try to rub it into my wound!. is this the best way!? I am not in any pain yet!.

Any help is much appreciated!.
Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
warm saline gargles are excellent!.!.!.!.!.just keep on doing that!.!.!.!.and increase the frequency ie do it 8-10 times a day!.!.!.!.it is very soothing!.
But from now onwards please STOP rubbing that tissue paper over the wound!.!.!.!.!.it is just not OK!.!.!.it must be disturbing the clot and thereby potential to delay healing!. But let bygones be bygones!.!.!.!.!.!.but now onwards plz pay attention to it !!

Use Betadine gargles 3-4 times a day and Hydrogen peroxide mouthwash 2-3 times a day for the next 2-3 days!.!.!.what happens with hydrogen peroxide is that by the effervescence action it literally flushes out any debris from the extracted tooth site!.

With all this the bad smell will go away!.!.!.!.!.and please continue scraping your tongue daily with a tongue-cleaner!.!.!.!.the coating that daily gets deposited on our tongue is home to so many germs causing bad-odor !.!.!.so, it needs to be cleaned everyday in the morning!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.it gives so much long-lasting freshness that you will forget all those expensive mouthwashes!.

So, all the very best to you !!

u need to see the dentist immediately if the socket is infected!. oozing of pus n bad breath n taste r signs of invasive infection!. if not attended to at earliest can lead to complications like osteomylitis !. timebeing continue taking medicines dentist prescribed!. gargle with plain water or a mouthwash instead of using a piece of tissue!. it might add up more infectionWww@Answer-Health@Com

Several times a day take one cap of peroxide (don't dilute it) into the mouth (DO NOT SWALLOW IT) and swish it for approx 10 minutes each time!. This will help with pain untill you can get in to see a dentistWww@Answer-Health@Com

Definitely get in to see the dentist as soon as possible, but salt water is good!. Gargling with hydrogen peroxide and water (1:1) will help as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello, Ok, here's your situation!. (1) If you have any kind of serious health issue such as cardiac problems or say kidney issues, the infection that is now occurring due to the extraction can pose a serious health threat!.!.!.!.Let me emphasize "serious"!.!.!.!.(2) If you do indeed have an infection working you now need to be on an oral antibiotic and your DDS can Rx that for you!. (3) Even with the RX antibiotic you need to see the DDS in his or her office ASAP!. (4) As for the no pain issue, you can have really sever infection and it may not cause pain until it gets to the acute stage, when that happens your in deep do do my friend!. However for mild pain control you can purchase an over the counter product called "Ora-Jel" and it will control basic surface pain!. (5) Rinsing with a salt solution is good but will not have a healing affect if you have a deep infection going on, and what you describe indicates you do!.!.!.!. Good luck and I wish you wellWww@Answer-Health@Com
