I went to the dentist and I need a crown!.!.!. My dentist also said I may need a root canal if the medicine doesn
Answers:
Yes you are in a dilemma- it is quite natural!.!. anybody in your situation would first want to be sure about the tooth health before going in for capping!.

you have asked if medicines work, will it be a clearance forever!. No, it wont be!. Reason being !.!.!.from your question it seems that the exact status of your tooth is not known !.!.!.!.that's why your dentist has told you to get it capped and later on to get it Root canal treated, if neeed, as he told you!.!.!.!.!.alright!?!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.So, I just wonder why you are in a hurry!.

What i would suggest to you is that in case the medicines dont work then in any case you will be visiting ur dentist!. Suppose medicines work, then plz wait for sometimes!.!.!.say a couple of weeks or 2-3 months !.!.!.after which you can approach your dentist !.!.!.!.and your dentist would be in a position to comment upon your tooth's need for a RCT or otherwise!. Please note that the same thing can be found out right now also !.!.!.!.!.but just to be conservative I am suggesting the waiting period in case the medicines work!.

You have not mentioned as to why you need a crown and which is the tooth which is required to be capped!.

Seeing the details given by you, I can advise you only this much!. All the best !!

Regarding insurance covers, i dont have any idea!. But I must tell you that crowns are not just "cosmetic" !!- they are definitely functional as well!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but I think you were talking about that from insurance point of view!.
God bless you !!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Even if you don't need a root canal now you may need one some time in the future!. This usually isn't a big deal and they just make a small opening through a crown and seal it up with a matching filling after the root canal!. As long as there is no decay under the crown from neglect then you should be able to keep the original crown!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if the pain was severe then medicines wouldnt help u long !. u most probably need a root canal treatment prefer to postpone crown 4 a few days if asymptomatic with medicines then put a crown or get rootcanal done n then crown it!. i wish insurance companies were more liberal or the dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, lets just say the oral surgeon messed up by breaking itWww@Answer-Health@Com

if everything is ok after your meds then the crown should be enough!. but if in the future the pad comes back then you will definately need the root canal but these days you can go through a crown to avoid having to get a new one, so dont worry about that!. the only thing is the life span of the crown once it has benn gone through it might shorten but it will still be worth it!. as for the insurance its best to call them yourself to see how much it will be on your part, also for big treatments like that many insurances prefer pretreat, its a paper that the dental office sends to them to let them know a crown has been planned and possibly a root canal!. some insurances will be less likely to pay if they dont get a pretreat or as i call it a "heads up" on whats about to happen before the treatment is actually done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello Lady, First let me tell you that while in some cases a Crown can be for trickily cosmetic reasons, they are not considered as "only" for cosmetic reasons, so insurance pays what ever percentage they pay regardless of the reason for getting one!.!.!.Now, unfortunately their are dentist who sell crowns along with a root canal when the crown may have no reasonable necessity!. A root canal can be accomplished by simply putting a proper filing in the opening required to remove the tooth's nerve!.!.!.If however the tooth is also decayed and removing the decay removes a great deal of the tooth's structure as well as the tooth undergoing a root canal procedure, then a crown can be justified as part of the over-all procedure!.!.!.!.As for the tooth going bad later, the answer is that any tooth can have a recurring issue that can require additional procedures, no dental procedure is forever, except for an "extraction"!.!.!.all other procedures can require additional services at a later time!.!.!.!.As for the medicine working, I assume the DDS had put you on oral antibiotics!. That tells me the tooth was giving you pain and an Xray of the tooth showed an abscess around the tooth's root and seeing that the DDS put you on antibiotics and told you that a root canal might be required along with a crown!.!.!.If the abscess heals and the tooth doesn't have surface decay, there is no reason to do a crown!.!.!.!.!.Know this however, once you have an abscess at the tooth's root tip, even if it heals, it will be more susceptible to recurring abscesses and will likely have to have a root canal in the future!.!.!.Good luck and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
