My tooth bites down on another tooth's braces bracket? Can't chew or bit!

Question: My tooth bites down on another tooth's braces bracket!? Can't chew or bite properly!?
I just got my brackets on today (the ortho place I go to lets you get used to your brackets before they put the wire in!.) and I've noticed that when I bite down, my front right tooth hits the bottom right tooth's bracket!. I told my orthodontist and she said some people are like that and it's normal since my teeth are crooked and eventually it'll be okay!. She also said if I was really uncomfortable, she could move the brackets lower!. If they're lower though, wouldn't that change how the wire goes in and wouldn't all my brackets on my bottom teeth need to be moved!? And if they were moved lower so that I could properly bite, they'd probably be at the really bottom part of my visible tooth!.!.!.which would be weird since it probably wouldn't function well for my braces treatment!? I can't eat well, I can only swallow soft, squishable foods!.

My MAIN question is: have any of you experienced this problem!? What'd you do!?

Please don't say to ask my orthodontist, because I will!.

It seems like sooner or later that bracket would pop off! There is a particular placement of brackets for optimum results, but if there is interference, it's probably going to pop off anyway!. If she can move it down, I'd schedule an appt!. to have her look at it and move it!. Fine tuning is not as crucial initially- especially if you don't have the wire in yet!

The orthodontist knows that getting braces is a new experience for the patient, and it's all going to feel weird, no one can eat real food, and some teeth will hurt a bit!.!.!.so she has to decipher on what things are REALLY bothersome enough to try to find a solution to!. Some parts you just have to adjust to!.!.!.but your case sounds like one that really needs addressed!.

It sounds like the orthodontist has this bracket trial time to spot things like this before they get you all bound up with wire!. When a bracket pops off while the wire is on, that means they have to take it ALL apart to put that one bracket back on!. Believe me, that is a pain in the rear for both the ortho assistant and the patient! Call her up and explain EXACTLY what is happening!. Otherwise, a call saying "my teeth are hitting funny and they hurt so bad I can only eat soft foods" will sound like every other person who got braces today!. So, be sure to include that the tooth actually hits the bracket!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It should be fine!. your teeth will shift into place and you won't even notice it by then!. A lil uncomfortable at first but it will fade!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is irritating but all part of the process!. Within three weeks or so you should see a marked difference in the structure of your teeth!. This overlapping and biting down on your brace is just because your teeth aren't aligned but when they do straighten a bit more, you won't have this problem!.

I went through this very thing and thought something was wrong!. Mine are almost ready to be taken off in a couple months and I'm no longer experiencing that!.

But this is the reason you have the braces is to fix these problems!. Having braces is no picnic and sadly I must warn you there are many more inconveniences and pain to come!. But once again this is all part of the process and it'll eventually be resolved!. On the bright side you'll be happy you did go through this, as well as happy that it's over!Www@Answer-Health@Com
