It's discomfort more then pain, but it goes away, it's not forever!. It's uncomfortable for like a day when you get your spacers and when you get wires on and have wires changed or adjusted, but taking motrin or ibuprofen when you're uncomfortable helps!. Don't be scared!. The discomfort is just one of those small prices you have to pay to be beautiful and healthy!. They'll tell you what to avoid, these things should be avoided to help your treatment move as quickly as possible!. If you eat hard sticky things it might unglue your brackets or remove your spacers too early and then they've got to start again!. The colors are a way for you to express yourself so pick whatever you are in to!. If you want to pick a color that isn't noticeable and doesn't change get the grey or silver color, the clear ones become yellow over a couple of weeks if you're drinking sodas or coffee or tea!. You should start using a fluoride rinse daily when you get your braces, like ACT!. You should also invest in a water pik, at least you should invest more time in brushing and flossing, so you don't get cavities around your braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

From my experiance, the spaces were more painful overall than the braces themselves!. The first three days of having braces is very painful also but as usual, is normally compleatly gone after that!.

You can have the colours changed everytime you get it tightened and almost every colour under the sun is available, including grey which is the best one if you don't what the attract more attention to it!. If you do want colours though, do think about what you will be doing in the next six week after, and judge accordingly!. For example if you have a interview or something it is possible that people might think your a bit immature if you have all the colours of the rainbow in your mouth!. Its a shame!.!.!.but thats the way it goes!.

I was told it would be bad to eat: - toffee, apples, nuts, raw carrots, crusty bread and to chew chewing gum!. But I still eat all these things, its fine as long as you eat them slowly!.

Overall, its the pain of the teeth moving that really hurts the most but is usually gone within three days!. The sores on your inner mouth are less bad, but tend to occur more often, and unpredictibly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hunny don't be scared! I would have to say it is a little bit both discomfort and pain!. Eat lots of soft foods the first day like bananas and yogurt or even soup!. With the spacers it doesn't really hurt it is just more annoying cause it feels like you have something stuck in your teeth!. No it doesn't really hurt when they put them on but after wards it does but mostly because you aren't used to them yet!. When you get them tightened it does hurt!. Stock up on pain medications like ibuprofen!. But most of all don't worry it will be fine!. If you still have questions speak up at the orthodontist you are paying them enough they can answer questions! O I forgot when you have the spacers don't eat gum or sticky things but when you have braces you can have things like popcorn and sugar free gum if you are careful not to shove whole hand fulls in at a time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

spacers do hurt but only for a couple of days but u'll get used to them just take advil or any pain killer the mean time if it starts hurting!. and for the braces don't get yellow cause they will make your teeth look yellow!. i would get something like pink or blueWww@Answer-Health@Com
