Getting the braces put on doesn't hurt, but after girl, you better buy some Tylenol!. No Joke, it was the first time in my life when I had to take pain pills!. But the spacers just prepare your teeth a little bit so that the braces can do a better job!. The braces will hurt for about a week and then you wont even notice them until you have to get them tightened : (
Generally, braces aren't bad, they just hurt in the beginning and when the wires aren't cut off enough and then get stuck in your cheek, (which shouldn't happen unless your ortho!. sucks like mine did!.)

But after all that is over with, you will have a gorgeous smile and you will love it :)

Ok some tips i can give you are!.!.!.
1!. Dont worry they really dont hurt that bad, only when you eat

2!. They tell you not to eat this list of one hundred foods but you should be able to use good judgement ( you can eat a lot of the ones they tell you not to)

3!. Use the wax

4!. If you get rubber bands later on, make sure you wear them 24/7 it almost guarauntees you will get them off early

5!. Take tylenol or motrine before you go and for the fist few days

6!. have your parents get lots of ice cream, pudding, jello, mashed potatoes, and stuff like that ( braces are a good excuse to eats lots of junk food )

7!. If a wire breaks dont trim it, they tell you to but before you know it the whole wire will just fall out, if it happens make an appoinment as soon as possible, the orthodontist wont be mad

8!. Brush your teeth and floss because there will be spots you dont realize have food in them and it will stain your teeth, then when you get them off people will want you to smile and you dont want yellow teeth!

GOOD LUCK DON'T WORRY!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had braces for 4 years many years ago!. Getting them put on is uncomfortable, and since the purpose is to move your teeth in your jaw, they do hurt, especially after they are tightened!. Pain is relative of course, and for me, aspirin worked wonders, today ibuprofen will work even better, spacers are to allow room for the bands about each tooth!. I found that the worst of the pain was gone in a day or two after adjustment, and then you get used to them till the next time!. Good luck, you will be really happy with the results when they are done!Www@Answer-Health@Com

OK them me tell you kids orajel rocks! It numbs the place in your mouth where you put it!. It doesn't really hurt when they put them on, but after wards it does!. The spacers are so the ortho people can place anchors in your mouth to hold the braces!. It hurts for a long time after wards because your mouth isn't used to it yet!. And be for warned on your returning visits when they tighten them it kind of hurts!. The pain is different for everyone so don' worry too much OK! And o yeah good luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

my kids both had braces (at the same time!) it does make your mouth sore when you first get them and each time they get adjusted!. eat something before you go and take a painkiller!. that will help it not be so bad and you won't have to worry about getting hungry and not being able to eat!. (brush your teeth really really well!.) the spacers help make room for the braces!. when they first got them on, they were sore for a day or two!. after each visit, it didn't hurt as bad or for as long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well putting braces doesn hurts but yeah there activation that is tightening does hurts always but u neednot worry as it is done under orthodontists supervision and it is done gradually under analgesic supplements!. spacers are meant for maintainin spaces for further anchorage, it hurts for longer time as the teth are under constant force applied by the ortho wires and braces and teeth are under stress and that causes the desired tooth movements, but theres nthin to get feared of it ,trust ur orthodontist and everythin will be just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes, it hurts for a few days while your teeth adjust and it hurts after everytime they are tightened!.

stock up on ibuprophen and soft foods like bananas, yogurt, etc!.

you'll be fine - millions have gone through the same thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
