Answers:
clicking in TMjoint is a normal phenomenon, unless of course accompanied by pain!.
U say your teeth are straight but are ur jaws of normal proportions!. Braces are only used when it is suspected that tooth alignment is the cause for neuromuscular dysfuntion in TMJ area!.

Since when is your jaw locking!? this locking could be a sign of progress of the problem!. Have u ever had an injury to your jaws!?
Go to a professional and get it diagnosed!. Ask the dentist what he thinks is the cause : is it alignment of teeth causing changes in muscles attached to the jaws and in turn in the bone of the jaws!? is it displacement of the disk of the jaw!? is it a problem with the muscles attached to the jaw!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, braces are not appropriate for this TMD treatment !.!.!.by the way, you say that your teeth are perfectly straight !.!.!.so, then where is the need !?
Mouthguard for TMD !?!?!?!?
Please do fix an appointment with an oral surgeon who after clinical examination of your temporo-mandibular joint and if needed with the help of X-rays for viewing TM joint, he would clinch the diagnosis and then advise you accordingly!.
Regarding popping sound each time you open your mouth
- it happens in people with healthy TM joints!. But, your problem for which I am suggesting you to consult an Oral surgeon is jaw locking that is a source of trouble for you !!
Good luck !!

These days the management of TMJ disorders is very advanced and effective!. So, dont worry !! But , keep us apprised about the progress in recovery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
