Extraction or is there another option??!

Question: Extraction or is there another option!?!?
So I went to the dentist today, and the dentist told me that because my abscess haven't cleared after the second RCT, that it is best for me to get an extraction!. I asked him to refer me to an endodontist, but he told me that from his opinion, I would save money in the future by just getting the extraction and implant!. He showed me the x ray and told me that the roots were all properly sealed, and the fact that the abscess came back indicates root fracture!. Even though there were no fracture indicated shown on the x ray, my dentist told me he believes there is, but he just missed it!. I asked him if an apicoectomy would be able to save my teeth but said that since it is the molar next to my wisdom teeth, it would be difficult to do the apicoectomy!. Does his reasons seem reasonable!? Should I still go see another dentist for second opinion!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Go to the endodontist - you don't HAVE to be referred by your general dentist!. Pick up the phone book and call for an appointment!.

While many general dentists do their own root canals (and some of them are good at it) they just do not have the training or experience an endodontist has!.

It's very uncommon to see a root fracture on a radiograph!. This can in most cases only be determined from inside the tooth or in the course of a surgery!. Apical surgery is difficult, if not impossible on lower molars, on upper molars, depending on which root is involved - it can be accomplished much easier!.

Another option is to have the tooth hemisectioned (basically, cut in half and the split root removed) and a crown is fashioned for the remaining tooth structure!.

Go see an endodontist!. They deal with this sort of thing all day long and can help you make the best decision regarding the long term prognosis of your tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you feel that you could benefit from a second opinion, then do it! Don't go along with something if you don't feel sure about it!. An extraction is a lot cheaper then having endo done, but then you have to take into consideration!.!.!.an implant is big money!. And you don't want to get it extracted and not replace it, otherwise you'll end up with drifting!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, of course, second opinion can be taken !!!.!.!.!.!.rather should be taken!.
All the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
