Bad clove taste of dry socket dressing?!

Question: Bad clove taste of dry socket dressing!?
I had four wisdom teeth extracted a week ago and went back today to have a dry socket treated!. The pain is entirely gone, and I am incredibly grateful, but now I have this wretched clove taste in my mouth from the medicated dressing!.

I know it's probably normal and part of the healing process, but is there anything- ANYTHING- I can do that will combat that wretched taste!? Or does anyone know how long it will last!?

Also, do any of the old wisdom teeth rules apply!? Am I not allowed to use straws again!? Should I go back to liquids!? I'm really worried about disrupting the dressing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
That clove taste is eugenol, an antiseptic topical medication!.
The best way to combat that wretched taste is to drink warm liquids, preferrably tea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dressing is soaked in eugenol- oil of cloves!. It is great for the pain of a dry socket!. Put up with the taste!. It will go away after the dressings come out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
