How do you brush your teeth if you have braces?!

Question: How do you brush your teeth if you have braces!?
I just got my braces put on yesterday and my orthodontist gave me a laminated sheet with pictures but I've read that you basically brush normally only more gently!. I'm most worried about the little colored elastics on each bracket and I'm scared to brush on them!. I don't want them to snap which means another trip back to the ortho!.!.!.

And also, is it okay to use an electric toothbrush!? I have a Sonicare which is a good brand but I'm reading mixed reviews on using electric toothbrushes while wearing braces!.

Any other tips are welcome!Www@Answer-Health@Com

For now, you should brush very softly since you just got them on!. For about a week or so, your teeth'll probably throb and hurt a bit so don't floss yet!. Just brush very well on the upper gums!. When you brush, don't worry about the elastics!. Good Orthodontics should have secure elastics!. When you brush your teeth, set the tooth brush above the brackets and brush the gums real well!. That way, they will be clean and your teeth will look whiter than they really are!. c:

Electric toothbrushes are fine, but I'd probably use a normal toothbrush for just a while!.

When you teeth stop throbbing, or hurting, start flossing real well!. Half the people I know didn't floss well!. I didn't either!. I barely flossed at all, and I ended up having to get root canal in between two of my molars because I didn't floss in between well!. It's a pain, but you must treat your teeth well, especially when you have braces!. You really don't need to brush at lunch!. Just in the morning, and at night!. Goggling with Listerine is really good for your teeth, right before you go to bed if you don't wanna floss!. :)

(If your teeth start hurting, just take some tylenol, or what ever drug your body reactes best to!. My braces hurt like heck the first time I got them put on, but it only lasts for usual a day or two)

Good luck with your braces!Www@Answer-Health@Com

its pretty much the same as brushing without braces, just brush softer!.

also, an electric tooth brush is better imo, since it gets in all the spaces that a regular tooth brush cant, and theyre gentle!.
dont worry about the rubber bands popping off, its pretty hard to take them off without the orthodontist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

get a concave brush!.ive got braces n i use 1!.its the best way to keep em 100% clean!.meaning 2 say the shape of its bristles shud be like this ]!.!.!.!.inward!.so as to enclose every bracket on ur teethWww@Answer-Health@Com
