Questions about my Wisdom Teeth?!

Question: Questions about my Wisdom Teeth!?
Hi!. I'm 16 years old and I am getting my Wisdom Teeth extracted in four days!. I am doing it early Thursday morning!. I had a few questions about the procedure, and the aftermath:

1!.) When I am sedated, what does it feel like!? Once the iv is in, do I feel myself simply falling asleep!? Do people dream during the time they are sedated!?

2!.) I know I must eat soft food, but for how long!?

3!.) Should I plan to have some movies for my laptop already set up for when I get home, or am I going to be too out of it!.!.!.or sleepy!?

4!.) My friend is coming into town three days after they are removed!. Will I be ready to leave bed and see them for a few hours!? Will I be in pain, and still look puffy!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I got mine out when I was 18!. All 4 were impacted and had to come out surgically!.

1) You'll just fall asleep!. I woke up during the procedure, felt ripping when they were taking out the lower right one, and then fell back asleep!. I woke up laughing and swearing!.

2) Until you feel like eating hard food!. Maybe a couple of days!.

3) You'll be completely out of it for the rest of that day!. Don't bother making any sort of provisions besides sleeping!.

4) You'll be ready to get up and go the next day probably, just make sure you've got some good pain medicine!. Honestly, the pain medicine the doctor gave me made me throw up, and he wouldn't give me anything else, so I got by with Tylenol!.!.!.plus I had dry socket in that right lower one!. It's not THAT bad!. You might be more tired than usual, but it won't disrupt your entire life for days upon days!.

This isn't a major operation!. It was nothing like when I got my tonsils out!. Just rest, don't suck through any straws or suck on candy, don't smoke, and make sure you don't eat anything that will burn or is too hard!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1) Can't say!.!.!. never had this happen

2) Most of the people I've seen its been like 2 days max!. until they could eat real food again!.

3) You won't be out of it once you leave the hospital unless they give you some magic pills!. Best bet -- have the laptop and movies ready!.

4) You'll be ready and raring to go!. You might still be on some ibuprofen, but you'll be able to hang out!. Look on the bright side -- it'll give you a great reason to go out for ice cream!Www@Answer-Health@Com

On your questions!.!.!.!.

1) Depends ho how they are situated and such!.
Some oral surgeons just inject painkiller medicine
to numb the pain!.
Others used gas to put you to sleep!.

2) That depends how well you recover!.
Some people take more time than others!.

3) If you are asleep and sedated after your
wisdom teeth are extracted!. You are not
going to feel too good!.

4) I doubt you be in pain after 3 days!.
However, whenever people have their
wisdom teeth extracted they will have bad
breath for awhile!.
Check with your dentist on what type of mouthwash
or whatever to take care of this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Really it's totally different for everyone!. I just had mine out at the beginning of the month and this is my experience:

1) Nothing, one minute you're asleep, the next minute you're awake and it's over!.

2) I only started eating normal food a week ago, so I ate only soft food for a good couple of weeks - however my operation was quite intense so this is a lot longer than normal (plus I've got 15 years of age on you which makes worse!)!.

3) I stocked up on movies and books before hand too, but was completely off my face for the first 4 days and despite many attempts to watch TV I just lay in bed staring at the ceiling or sleeping (I actually barely remember these days but I do remember just feeling very relaxed and comfortable)!.

4) My swelling came out on day 3 and this is quite common - but even if it swells, you'll be fine as long as you feel well enough!. I took liquid arnica for a week before the operation, immediately before, then immediately after and continued it for 5 days after!. I also used cream arnica on my cheeks to stop bruising!.!.!.The doctor also recommended keeping the icepack on for at least 3 days, so I did!. Considering how complex my case was, I had very little swelling (even the nurse commented when I went for my check up)!.

Good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You feel out of it, and kind of crazy, You won't even notice that you've fallen asleep untill you wake up!.

I think it's two weeks, but if you eat normal food sooner than your suppost to, the pain could get worse, and no cigarrettes either!.

You'll be too out of it, and won't feel upto it if your not out of it, maybe a few hours after you get home you might!.

The puffyness goes away in 2 to 4 days, you may still be in pain, depending on severity of the wisdom teeth, but you will probably be up for hanging out and all!.

If your still a little apprehensive of it all, just ask the dentist's!.

One thing though, after the operation, you won't ever have any more wisdom, lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
