Answers:
Buy this numbing gel that is sold over the counter at any drug store called ORAJEL, it's similar to the paste that they give you at the dentist before giving you an injection to numb it!. Place it around the area that is in pain!.

Try avoiding cold drinks, and hard to chew on foods!.

Use a cloth that is warm enough for your face to handle, that should soothe it down a bit!.

Rinse with mouth wash, to keep your mouth clean

Drink pain killers

hope this helps,
good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

um are the spaces for braces!? if so they are there to help your molars move away from each other so the orthodontist can place a molar band round your tooth , the pain is from your teeth shifting !. !. and EAT the more you eat and chew on those teeth the more the pain will subsideWww@Answer-Health@Com

i have no idea
you should go to a dentist and askWww@Answer-Health@Com

One of the best things for pain from braces is warm, salty water!. Rinse repeatedly; it will help the swelling go down!. As for Motrin, it's the same thing as ibuprofen!. You can take 800 mg up to three times a day, although you shouldn't do that for more than two or three days in a row!.

Other than that - stick with liquids, and don't try to chew if you can avoid it!. Cold foods may give you some relief - soft semi-frozen things, for example!. Hopefully the spacers won't be in there too long, and you'll be getting the braces themselves shortly instead!.

Good luck, and hang in there!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If medication isn't helping, I recommend trying acupressure!. It's free, and you can do it yourself!.

To use acupressure to treat a toothache, you first need to know where to apply the pressure!. There are actually two places where pressure can be applied to assist in treating a tooth ache; a treatment time of 30 seconds to four minutes should be sufficient for either!. Using your fingertip, acupressure should be applied with firm pressure, with a rotary or turning motion applied at the same time!.

The first place where you can apply pressure to assist in easing a toothache is the point known as "Chang-Iang"!. This point is located on the index finger, just beneath the corner of the nail closest to the thumb!. The Chang-Iang point is just slightly beneath the nail corner and slightly to the left (for the right hand) or right (for the left hand)!. About a millimeter or less in each direction should do it!. Apply pressure as described above, using the tip of the finger!.

The other location that can be used is known as the "Kroun-Loun" point, and is located between the outer ankle and the Achilles tendon!. The point is toward the bottom of the outer ankle, just above the heel, and pressure applied to it should be aimed downward onto the heel bone!. The area that you're shooting for is around 2 millimeters from the ankle, and will produce somewhat of a strange feeling when pressure is applied!.!.!. after all, the only bone in the area is the heel bone, and that's where the pressure is going!. Apply pressure as described above, for 30 seconds to 4 minutes!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brace pain is normal and should settle down after a few days!. Taking motrin is ok but do not take more than it says on the bottle 1 every 8 hrs should be fine!. Here is a website with some people who went through the same thing: http://forum!.dentalfind!.com/read/165-bra!.!.!.

And another answer on this site: http://ca!.answers!.yahoo!.com/question/ind!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello, To begin with, the spacers, while putting stress on your teeth, usually cease to cause discomfort within two days!.!.!.You may have some continuing tenderness for another day but after that you should be pain free!.!.!.Now, taking any kind of medication can eventually cease to work!. Your body can actually develop what let's call an immune reaction to the medication meaning that your body doesn't react to it like it did in the beginning!.!.!.Stop taking the Motrin and check with your physician if the pain level is still bothering you!. The MD can prescribe another medication!.!.!.In the mean time have your parents go to the drug store and purchase an over the counter product called "Ora-Jel"!.!.!.!.apply it as directed and you should experience immediate relief from the discomfort your having with the spacers!.!.!.Good luck and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
