Heya,

sounds as though it's an abscess!. I'd ring the dentist immediatley and ask for an emergency dental appointment!. I had the same thing a month ago, and didn't think it was that serious, waited three days (as i was petrified of the dentist back then) and when I did call him because the swelling got so bad, and neurofen didn't work or panadol, he told me that I had to come in that day, but in the afternoon- and ordered me to go have an x-ray right then, and gave me a script for antibiotics immediatley!.

Do not ignore something like this!. Not to scare you, but an abscess when it starts to infect the tissue of the jaw and chin (the swelling in other words) means it's quite serious!. In my case, it had meant that the abscess had started to eat away the bone in my jaw, and I was a day away from meningitis (as the dentist explained it was at a very late stage!. stupid me, but anyhow)!.

Call them asap, and place a cold compress or ice pack on the swelling to help reduce it!. Unforutnatley there's not much you can do for the pain, but get to the dentist asap!.

Don't worry, if you get it now- you'll be right :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

first off try placing a cold pack on your chin area!. Your tooth is abscess and your whole face could swell up looking like someone beat the crap out of you!. The dentist will have to put you on antibiotics first, then you will go back for an extraction or root canal, depending on if you want to spend the $$$$!. Once a root canal then you have to have it covered with a crown!. Is it a molar or up front!? Ibuprofen is about the best you can do for swelling along with the cold pack!. Be sure and follow through with the antibiotics and go back!. You may think you are okay after the swelling goes away but it will come back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the medicines you are taking are antibiotics and anti-inflammatory-painkillers, just relax and take it easy!.!.!.!.!.!.!.the swelling will go down but gradually!.
Just wait for the next 2-3 days !.!.!.!.!.!.by that time, you will be visiting your dentist anyway!. Yes, you can do warm saline gargles quite frequently!.!.!.!.say after every 2 hrs or so!.!.!.!.!.it is indeed very very soothing!. And please avoid to chew on the side and if possible just put some dry cotton pellet into the big cavity!.
No, rest assured nothing really bad will happen !.
God bless !!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you really can't do anything about the swelling because that is an infection in the gums your dentist will give you some anti!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you have an abcess!. You need to go to an ER or call the dentist and insist on an appt!. tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

sounds like a abcsess you need to go to the denitst or doc to get some antibotics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This may sound a little weird!. but I have had my share of dental problems!. Get some of that dental wax for braces, and plug the hole with it!. It won't be as sensitive because once you fill it you won't have to worry about getting food stuck in it!. That way you can at least get through the next couple of days!. They won't touch if its infected, they'll give you an antibiotic and some tylenol 3, which dosent do crap so ask for vicodin!. I just went through all this so I definately sympathize!. Mine isnt over yet till I come up with a thousand for a root canal!. Someones making money off my misery! Hang in there!Www@Answer-Health@Com
