I really want to be an orthodontist and an oral surgeon, but i don't know which one to go to school for first
the median salary for an ortho is about 170 000 dollars a year
for an oral surgeon its about 300 000 dollars a year

If you want to go into a profession that makes money then go for it! I'm so sure, the people who say rude things to you because "it's not something that you are interested in" are just!.!.!.rude lol!. Obviously you have to be somewhat interested in it because there are a ton of other things that would make more money than an orthodontist or an oral surgeon!. It's your life!. In my opinion, I think you should become an orthodontist first and do that for 2-5 years and then look for someone hiring an oral surgeon because they would be more likely to hire you with some dental experience!. Oh, and btw, I do think $170,000 is a lot! The career that I want to get into makes 80,000 at most!. Take care! =)Www@Answer-Health@Com
in my country, before specialising to become an orthodontist or an oral surgeon, one has to get a degree in dentistry!. upon graduation, then they work for some years before going back to the university to study a postgraduate degree of specialist!.
during your undergrad years you probably sort out which specialisation suits you better!.
the intake for dental professional is very little, hence a fierce competition!. only the best were enrolled!.
you know, sometimes you don't always get what you want in life!. i think you may want to consider a second or third choice!.

well depending on where you live the government is going to take a nice chunk of change out of that!.
