if your gums are more red toward the front, and not pale pink (depending on race) and stippled like an orange peal, you may have to floss and brush a little better in those areas!. Make sure that you don't snap your floss between the teeth when flossing b/c you will cause floss cuts and they can be very uncomfortable!. Be sure to see your dentist for cleanings every 6months, a year really isn't good enough, even if you have an insurance plan that only covers once per yr, you are better off to pay for that extra visit!.
Be sure that you are holding your brush at a 45-degree angle to your gums and brush downwards, and not at a 90-degree angle to your teeth, it's awkward at first but it will be best in the end!. Do not scrub brush your teeth b/c you will just end up with blunting your gums after, and so forth!.
What may be the cause of your red gums, aside from having gingivitis in that area, could have to do with you being a possible mouth breather!? If so, when one mouth breaths, the anterior gums become dried and can get to be puffy, etc!. Ask your dentist about what they would suggest, perhaps they migh suggest putting some vaseline on your front teeth before bed to keep the area moist, but be sure to brush in the morning AND before bed!.!.!.at least!.!.!.and floss at least once per day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Healthy gums appear pink and firm!. A good program of oral hygiene must be maintained lifelong to be able to avoid the disease to recur!. Possible complications can happen once dental health is given less priority such as recurrence of periodontitis, tooth abscess, infection or abscess of the soft tissue, infection of the jawbone, trench mouth, mobile or lost teeth, and tooth flaring or shifting!. Call a medical professional as soon as possible!. A dentist must be consulted if there are any present signs of gingivitis!. Or seek help of a periodontist if gum disease is advanced, he or she may recommend or require that you undergo periodontal surgery, if the disorder is already irreversible!.
