Question: Mouth Moulding!?
I have to get my top jaw moulded for a plastic retainer in a few days and last time i had my top jaw moulded i couldn't stop gagging!. It was really embarrassing and uncomfortable!. Does anyone have any tips to help me please!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are not alone!. Let your dentist or assistant know that you are a gagger!. They will help you!.
I usually have patients to focus on an item while impression is taken!. Another method is to raise one of your leg up!. Any type of distraction will help!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

All the suggestions are great! I too am such a gagger that I vomited on my fellow dental assistant/ co-worker!. Here is another suggestion: some offices carry a spray that can be sprayed in the back of your throt (it tastes really bad but it help numb the back of your throut) OR you can can ask the assistant if she/he can give you a swab of the gel the dentist uses before the dentist gets you numb, and suck on the swab this also helps!. Do not be embarrassed!. I am a gagger too and also work in the dental field!. To tell you the truth, once I see a patient gagging I also do it because I have a weak stomach!.
All you have to do is put your chin down!. Breath through your nose and tell the assistant to make it as thick as possible so it can dry fast!. Good Luck??Www@Answer-Health@Com
