Root canal or extraction?!
Question: Root canal or extraction!?
My dentist told me I need a root filling in molar upper 6!. The tooth has a large filling already!. Have chronic infection that keeps coming back but no pain, just sore, aching gum!. I also have a little spot on the gum which is yellow headed!. I had a root canal before which didn't work and I ended up with extraction!. It was also quite traumatic and I was numb for 8 hours!. It didn't work and it ended up being extracted!. I now have a nice bridge there and no problems!. What should I consider!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's a hard one without seeing x-rays!. It sounds as though you have a chronic infection and the body has kept you pain-free by forming what is called a fistula!. This is the pimple that you have on your gum!. When pus (that's what's in the pimple) gets too much and the pressure would be building up (that would cause a lot of pain), it drains through that little pimple so you're comfortable!.
I'm sure you've been aware of a slightly sweetish taste in your mouth!. That is the pus!. Not fun and not good because you are swallowing infected material and taking into your body systemically!.
Have the tooth treated with root canal therapy if the dentist feels that it will probably succeed!. You have to remember that not all root canals are successful!.
If he/she doesn't than you can have it extracted and consider replacing the tooth with either an implant or a bridge!. Either way!.!.!. treat it ASAP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would do the root canal and then do a crown so it won't break off!. It's always best to keep your own teeth!. If you are worried about it, talk to an endodontist in your area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Implants are stronger than original teeth!. They are also 98 % effective!. Root canals have about a 45% failure rate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
