Again, little friend I am sorry and will be thinking of you while you have to deal with this!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was scared when I had my first root canal!. Your dentist will give you plenty of local anesthetic so you will not feel pain!. You will feel the pressure as he (or she) is drilling out the tooth, and it will feel very strange, but NOT painful!. If you experience pain, tell the dentist, and you will be given more anesthetic!.

My teeth are very sensitive, and after the first root canal, I was less scared for the others I needed!. Let the dentist know you're scared!. You will not feel pain after the root canal, since the tooth's nerve will be gone!. You may feel some discomfort, but that will be from having your jaw open for so long!.

Take a couple aspirin or ibuprofen (whichever you prefer), and resign yourself to the fact that your jaw will be uncomfortable for that day!. You'll be fine!

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just had one done yesterday morning!. It is my front tooth!. It was suprisingly not that bad at all! They numb you completely, so you can tell something is going on, but its just like going for a cleaning, or even better, no pain at all!.

At the end she gave me 4 advil to take then, and a perscription for Tylenol 3 with Codene!. I drove myself right back to work (my face was still numb, but not a bit of concern to drive), got plenty of work done!. The feeling came back to my face by lunch, ate sandwich with no problem, and just waited for the soreness to kick in to go to the pharmacy!. It NEVER did! Its 26 hours later now, and I feel absolutely fine, no soreness at all!. Granted this is a front tooth, so back ones might be worse for the jaw!.

Recommend: bring one of those eye masks that you sleep in, so you don't have to watch everything that goes on, no need to see the needles and scraper tools, and its easier to keep your eyes shut with mask!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get nitric oxide!!! It will make the whole experience much better!. You can probably go to work afterwards, but ask your dentist for a prescription for pain killers (don't believe him when he says motrin is fine) and fill it asap!. This way, you can always pop a pill at work, it will make you drowsy, but not in pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The actual root canal doesnt hurt as much as when they take the pulp out thats the actual nerves I was hurting for days after that and they gave me good pain meds!. The actual procedure doesnt hurt much at all its the pain afterwards that hurts!. Oh and I wouldnt go back to work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, you should be able to go to work afterwards!. Root canals are surprisingly not a big deal--I was worried too before my first (and only) one!. But I don't think it's any worse than getting a filling, except it may take longer!. And because they destroy the nerve, you might have no pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesn't hurt that bad!. I've had 2 and I just ask my dentist to be gentle and I barely felt anything!. If it does get painful, squeeze your hands together, it will take your mind off the pain of the root canal and on the pain of your hands!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have a decent dentist, it's a piece of cake!. They numb you up so good that you can't feel a thing!. Don't worry and try to enjoy this day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

During the procedure you willl not feel anything because the Dentist wil give you an anesthetic eg - Novocaine!.You should be able to go to work but do not eat or drink anything for a few hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

best advise i can give is this!.!.!.if your having it done in 2 sittings(which they usally do) remember to go back for the 2nd sitting lol!! i didnt!.!.!.later my tooth cracked and broke off leaving the roots behind!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't tell you what it's going to be like but I can say I'm in the same boat! I'm getting a root canal and a crown Aug 5th :( I'm really scared too! I hope all goes well!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If I were you I would take the whole day off, it will hurt regardless but it can be major pain it all depends either way you may not be able to concentrate at work best to get your pain meds and go home!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

ive had one done when i was 12,expect a painful needle then a long boring wait while he;s pulling out the roots!.!.!.no reason to be scaredWww@Answer-Health@Com
