Root Canal???!

Question: Root Canal!?!?!?
Well tomorrow I have to have a root canal!. They are giving me 4 pills to take a few hours before I go!. And they also told me that they are going to build it up strong because they aren't going to put a crown on it just yet!. Since I'm only 17, they said my gums still have time to receed a little bit and for me to come back when I turn 21 or finish college!.
So basically I was wondering how bad does a root canal hurt!?And how much pain are you going to be in afterwards!? Is it going to hurt during the next few days!? Can I now not eat anything hard since it doesn't have a crown!?
Please help!

If you have a great dentist like i do, there will be no pain during the proceedure, except when they give you the shots to numb the area, and they don't hurt much!. There will some pain afterward, but not bad!. They should give you a prescription for pain pills at the dentist!. Ask your dentist for aftercare instructions!. If they put on a temporary crown, you'll have to be careful about biting down hard on it as it can break!. I think it's kind of odd they are making you wait that long to get a permanent crown!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your gums might be a little sore afterwards, but generally after the root is taken out there's little or no pain!.

I've had a bunch of them and they're not as bad as you think!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should be fine!. usually theyre procedural and no complications!. maybe a couple of tylenol for the pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
