Question about Orthodontic Headgear???!

Question: Question about Orthodontic Headgear!?!?!?
I am moving to another state and changing the orthodontic practice that I go to and am wondering if the fact that your molar bands don't have headgear tubes, does that mean that you won't need headgear!? Is there a possibility that the new ortho could change my treatment plan, or would he continue with the same plan as my old ortho!? Thanks :)
P!.s!. I don't have an excessive overjet but was wondering if they ever use headgear to force the molars back to create extra space b/c I have crowding in my upper arch and wish to avoid extraction!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The need for headgear is more about the relationship with the upper and lower first permanent molars (aka 6 year molars) this relationship is the key to how everything lines up!.

Have your ortho explain the criteria for deciding who gets headgear, it may help alleviate your worries!.

If the new ortho suggests headgear, remember you can get another opinion from another ortho in the new area you're moving to - you don't HAVE to go to the first guy!.

But in the end, if you have to wear it, it really isn't the end of the world!. Most ortho's only require it being worn around the house - not out in public!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
