A jaw that clicks and teeth that grind! Help!?!

Question: A jaw that clicks and teeth that grind! Help!!?
When I sleep I grind my teeth (consequently I wear a "mouth guard" type thing when sleeping)!.!.!.if I don't wear my "mouth guard" thing, I waken in the morning feeling as if my teeth are loose in my gums!.
I also have a clicking jaw!. I do not even notice it myself any more, however apparently it has been around for a couple of years!?!?!? ( I am not sure), and is REALLY loud!. In fact my husband walked to the other end of the house the other day, and shouted "I can still hear it all the way from here"!

Someone has told me going to see an osteopath can stop it!.!.!.!.is this true!? What else can I do!.!.!.will I grind and click forever!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You have TMJ which causes the clicking!. I didn't even know I had it until my husband complained so much my dentist sent me to a specialist!. He and his assistant were amazed I could open my mouth all the way and had no pain!. I had a full view x-ray of my head!. (there really is a brain inside!. LOL)

The specialist said I could wait until I have pain which could be just terrible or take care of it now; however, if he did something about it, the shape of my mouth would change and I would probably need braces!.

I decided to wait which really seemed to irritate him!. It's been over 15 years and my jaw clicks sometimes but I never have pain!. I can hear myself occasionally but usually notice it when I try to open my mouth and the jaw pops!.

Just mention it to your dentist at the next exam unless it hurts!. If it does, see him sooner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

keep using your splint!. If you feel its not working any more, you may need a new one!.
As for the clicking jaw !? i have it to, and its because i grind and clench!. It can be normal but if its painful or or worried about it go to your dentist and he will refer you to a TMJ specailist!.
Grinding and clenching is mostly due to stressWww@Answer-Health@Com
