Playing clarinet with braces?!
Question: Playing clarinet with braces!?
I'm 1st chair in high school and i'm just getting braces!. I'm really nervous, will it affect my playing!? Band is my LIFE and i'm not ready to give up my chair (expecially to a freshman!) I really don't know anything about braces, sooo!.!.!.!.!.what should I do!?

It will hurt a bit initially when you put your bottom lip back over your teeth, because the brackets will irritate the inside of your lip, particularly with the clarinet pressing down on it!. You will get used to it in a few weeks when the skin inside your bottom lip toughens up and gets used to the brackets!. If it's still painful to play, the orthodontist will give you some wax that you can put on top of the brackets while you play so that it stops them from jagging into your lip!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm first clarinet in my high school band too and second part in the marching band!. It may hurt your bottom teeth, especially if you just got your braces tightened, but you'll get used to it!.
Also, for colors!.!.!. I'd recommend a light color like lilac because the lighter the color the noticeable your teeth will look!. However, don't get white or clear; they will stain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I graduated from high school 3 years ago!. But when I was in elementary and high school I took bank!. I played the Clarinet!. and Band was my life back then too!. So I know how important it is!.
Having braces on won't make a difference, my friend who played clarinet as well had braces so you'll be fine with braces on!.
I have to get braces soon too now, and I'm thinking about going with Transparent Colors so they are too bright but they are color and they look nice :DWww@Answer-Health@Com

first of all at first u might not play very well but after a while u will be used to it!. o and about the colors: never get wight because they will turn ur teeth yellow and don't get yellow or black either!.i would stick to these colors: blue,green,violet, and maybe red!. i am getting braces soon sooo i feel ur pain!. good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
