It shouldn't hurt!. (Unless you have a huge abcess or infection filled with puss)!. If you feel any pain during the procedure, you must tell the dentist right away to numb you more!. Just note that there is only so much lidocaine (numbing agent) you can receive due to your weight, ie!. There will be some discomfort though!.
For the most part, just relax!. You can take some ibuprofen an hour and a half before the procedure!. Keep yourself occupied because it is a timely treatment!. Do NOT focus on the tools going into your mouth!. Many look like sharp needle like instruments but do NOT hurt!.
If your jaw gets tired from keeping opened, ask the assistant to place a jaw opener in your mouth!. Keep telling yourself, the process is to save your actual tooth!.
Remember, afterwards you need to get a buildup (kind of a giant filling for a cavity) and seal the tooth up with a crown to prevent future damage to the salvaged remnants of your tooth!.
Otherwise, breathe through your nose and try to sleep if you can!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It shouldn't hurt any more than regular dentistry!. If it does, stop the dentist and ask for more pain medicine!. I'm going to tell you that having a tooth ache will hurt more than any dental work can!. If your dentist is too rough, try someone else!.

I have had several root canals and they weren't bad at all!. I couldn't feel a thing!. Now I have an extra root that couldn't be deadened, so it was push, push, push, push, ouch!. Because my dentist explained what was going on, it was just an ouch which stopped hurting immediately!.

Maybe they can use sedation dentistry on you!. Ask the dentist to let you have the maximum time for the numbing shots to work!. If she understands your pain tolerance, she should be able to help you!. If she doesn't listen, go to someone else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't let the words scare you!. I too also thought that this was an aweful procedure but I've had two and they were no worse than a filling!. The worst part is just getting numb!. Take some ear phones with you and just relax!. Your hardest job will be just keeping your mouth open for awhile!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had more than one done after a knock to my teeth!. They don't hurt!. Take two painkillers before you go in, and just relax!. If you can feel it after the shots, tell them so they can numb it further!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no it doesnt hurt and im 15

but after they did my root canal the numbness went to my eyelid which made me sleepy

so take some tylenol or advil if it does hurtWww@Answer-Health@Com
