Question: I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out without sleeping!?!!?
I have to get my two bottom wisdom teeth pulled out!. They are impacted but already have started to come out!. My insurance won't pay for the sleeping gas so all I am going to get is the numbing shot!. I am already freaking out!. Can someone tell me their experience with their wisdom teeth getting pulled out without the sleeping gas!? thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had 4 impacted teeth and i was sedated for the extraction of my teeth!. however, i am a dental student and i have extracted or assisted in extractions of many wisdom teeth extractions!.!.!. and if i had to do it again, i would probably choose not to be sedated!. only because when you are sedated, you feel really weird after the procedure (all groggy and out of it) and you need someone to help you get home!. i also slept for a long time after my procedure!.
don't worry about the procedure!. its not a difficult procedure!. just make sure that you have a good oral surgeon!. make sure you are good and numb when they do the procedure!. don't be afraid to let someone know if you feel anything!. don't be afraid you feel some pressure!.!. that is normal to feel!. the anesthesia will take away the pain but not the feeling of the pressure as they take out the tooth!. it will be an uncomfortable procedure, but if you keep nice and calm, you will be perfectly fine!. and don't forget to follow all post-operative instructions so that you can avoid dry socket, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had two on one side pulled with just the shot!. There is no need to panic!. When it's being done, you will feel pressure and pulling!. After the procedure is done, and the Novocaine wears off you will feel some pain, just as with any other dental procedure!. Some pain meds, and no super hot/cold/hard foods for a while (3-4 days) and you will be all OK!. The worst part about being awake is you have the dentist working in your mouth, and thats uncomfortable, but not painful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Don't worry about a thing!. You won't feel anything; the dentist numbs your gum!. I have gotten my teeth pulled out, so don't worry!. you won't even feel the numbing shot!Www@Answer-Health@Com
