Absoltely, if she grinds and the problem cant be fixed soon she should start protecting her teeth at a young age, specially her front teeth which she uses alot and should last her a lifetime, wearing a mouthguard will keep her enamel from wearing down which will prevent easier access for decay, crowns, veneers or a root canal later in life, starting to protect her teeth now will save lots of money later in life, A dentist would recommend wearing a mouthguard specially if she is a heavy grinder but make sure you ask him what would be best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I wouldn't buy the type at the pharmacy!. Your 12 year old is growing tremendously!. I would ask your dentist to make you a soft mouthguard!. She is grinding because her jaw is growing so much right now, and im sure her teeth are just trying to find their place!. She may grow out of this!. Definately see your dentist, he/she will be able to look for wear facets which will indicate how serious your daughters habit is, if it needs to be addressed!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
