Im getting braces! And i was excited but now im scared! What should i do!?!? What do they do to you first!? Can you give me so info about having braces and getting them on for the first time!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have braces and theyre going to clean your teeth then apply this cheek separtor to help retract your cheeks from getting in the way they will try bands on and then they will cement each one on your back molars and then after that they will cement each bracket on and then apply the wires and youll either have orings or a powerchain but either way its ok!.!.!. and dont worry its nothing to be scared about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's not a big deal, they just fit you for rings(little things that go around you back teeth to hold the wire), and make molds, and then put this lip stretching thing(don't worry it doesn't hurt) on to keep your lips out of the way!. Then they put on the brackets individually, and then they put on the wire and ligatures like they will for every other appointment!.
A lot of people say they hurt, but mine have never hurt!.
Sure they are a little sore when I wake up the day after an appointment, but they never require advil or anything!.
A good tip is that for 10 minutes after your appointment, chew sugarless gum!. It increases bloodflow, which prevents swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi!. i just got my braces in may of this year!. its really not that bad!. take some tylenol/advil an hour before going in!. this will help with the soreness from having to keep your mouth open for about an hour!. the actual process of getting them put on does not hurt one bit!. it will feel wierd at first, but trust me, you get used to it pretty quickly!. eating is very hard at first and sore at first but you get used to it in about a week or so!. you will eat normal again, trust me!. your mouth will be sore for a few days, continue taking the tylenol/advil for the pain, it will not be any type of horrible pain that one cant take though!. try sticking to eating soft foods (ex: mashed potatoes, smoothies, pudding) for the first couple days!. also, when you get them tightened the soreness will come back, but will only last a couple hours-the next day!. just relax, it will all be fine!Www@Answer-Health@Com
First of all, just relax!. If you freak yourself out, it will hurt way worse!. Lots of people get braces, in fact I just got mine today!. First, you will probably get spacers which are little rubber bands they wedge between your teeth so they can work with that space later on!. When you get the actual braces, the spacers come out and then they glue on different things such as brackets!. Now, for me personally, nothing really hurt braces wise until they tightened them by putting on the bands!. So right now, my teeth are hurting really bad! But I asked for some help and some of the advice I got is just to eat cold things to numb the pain, sleep, or even call your dentist!. Sleeping did not really work for me, but I'm about to go get a smoothie to momentarily relax the pain!. Just know that there is no way to completely erase the pain, trust me, I've tried a lot! Just take pain relievers and just relax!.!.!.I'm assuming the pain will last a few days and well, its not fun at all!. I'm only 12 and this has been tough for me, but with the help of others, I know I'll be ok!. And about spacers, they only hurt me for like one day, so don't really worry about those!. Oh! I almost forgot, never get yellow, black, white, or dark blue colors for your bands! I heard from my sisters who have had braces that yellow make your teeth look nasty, black makes it look like there is stuff in your teeth along with dark blue, and white get stained like if you eat mustard or something!. It will also probably be best to get one color!. I got just a regular pink and I like it and it will probably be the only color I use!. Your dentists will probably talk to you about food and such!.!.!.!.you can only chew gums lik Extra, but it will be ok!. I hope I helped and hang in there!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i got braces they only hurt 4 like 3 hrs and dont be scared its actully kinda fun having them but dont let anyone hit u in the face and always brush espically when you have braces the docs will get mad if u dont ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com
Just relax! Everyone gets them! They hurt at first but they stop hurting after a while!. Sorry but i dont have that much info because i dont have them yet!. My friends do though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
