Question: I have a few questions about braces!?
Im getting braces next week and im really scared!! But first i have a few questions i wanna ask! Plz help me and answer these questions as best as you can! You dont hafta to answer them all!
1!. How do they put them on!?
2!.Do they hurt much!?
3!.What colors can you get!?:D
4!.Do they give any kind of fluid!?(ex: anesthesia, painkillers,e!.t!.c!.)
5!. Any tips will be helpful!(except mean ones!) And websites!

First of all, don't be scared, just relax!. Now, when they put them on, they might put an appliance in too which might make things difficult to talk!. They mainly just glue stuff in your mouth like brackets!. I don't think it hurts untill they tighten it by putting in the rubber bands!. I'm assuming since you're getting braces in a week, you've already had spacers, and the spacers hurt pretty bad, but I really think the braces hurt WAY worse! I'm not trying to freak you out anymore than you already are, but I'm not trying to lie to you!. Now, if you have not had spacers, I will explain!. Spacers are rubber bands they put in between your teeth to make space that they use later so things won't hurt as bad!. Spacers for me, only hurt for about 24-48 hours!. Now these braces I just got today hurt a lot worse and will probably hurt awhile longer than spacers!. As for colors, do not get white, yellow, black, or dark blue!. Yellow make your teeth look dirty, white get stained by things like mustard, and dark blue and black make it look like there are things in your teeth!. So, I would get like a favorite color or something and i suggest getting all one color!. There are many color options, but I stuck with a regular pink and I think it looks great! They do not give you painkillers, but I suggest taking some before the appointment!. Take some every 4 hours or whatever it tells you to do even if it's not hurting because it will help to keep the pain away!. The real pain should only last about 3 days, that's what my orthadonist told me!. Keep ice on your mouth to numb the pain, drink cold things, stick to soft foods, take naps, drink warm things too, etc!. Just try different things and see what works best for you!. I still have 2 years to go w/ me braces cause I just got em today! :) So, just hang in there and ask your orthadonist at your next appointment for more information!. What they do is, is they clean your teeth just a tiny bit sometimes and then they take the bracket thing [haah i don't know what they're called! but the things that hold the wire into place] and they glue them onto your teeth!. they let them sit there for a moment making sure that they are dry all the way!. they will give you the colors which is like the rainbow and you get to pick however many you want to!. then they take the wire and put it in then put the rubber bands on!. they don't give you anything like painkillers though!.
when you first get them on, I'll be honest and the first few days your mouth is so sore and you need to eat things like mashed potatoes, soup, etc!. but after that it's fine! when they tighten them it doesn't hurt though so you only go through all the soreness when you get the bracket things on!.
you will probably get sores by the braces and i know it sounds gross, but rinse you mouth with warm salt water every few hours!. it burns sometimes, but it really does help after a few days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. well first they put a thing in your mouth to open it more and then they put like this glue on your teeth and glue on the brackets and they put the metal wire and then a rubber band to secure
2!. they hurt at first they dont but once u wear them for a while they hurt and it bothers u lol they hurt me for about 3 days
3!. the colors you can get is the basic rainbow colors and additional ones too like lime green, aqua, etc
4!. no, it doesnt hurt while they are doing it and after the process they will give you some sticky stuff that you will put on the brackets if they poke you

1!. well first they usually make you brush your teeth first and then they put a light type of machine over your teeth and they paint the clear cement on your teeth and place the little bracket on your teeth with a small tool!. ((when they stick the wire through, you feel pressure!.
2!. when you first get them they normally don't hurt until later on, your mouth becomes very sore and tight!.
3!. different offices vary, but normally they have all colors: pinks, blues, greens, yellow, orange etc!. lots of colors!.
4!.they don't give you any type of meds;; take any meds you have before you go & make sure you eat very well (get full) before you get them!. Because your mouth will be sore!.
be careful once you get used to them with eating, because when you start out with the thin wire, the brackets will sometimes pop off, don't freak out, just contact your dentist to replace the bracket!

1!. They use a device to hold your cheeks open!.!. You almost look like a blow fish for a little while!. They use a sandy mixture (called pumice) to clean off your teeth, add an acid etch which tastes like really sour lemonade, and then cement each bracket on each tooth!. They then will add the wire!.
2!. They are very uncomfortable for the first few days!. Its weird trying to eat with all the metal in your mouth!. But before you know it, its like second nature!. Sometime you might get little sores from the metal rubbing up against your gums, they will give you wax for that!. They are only uncomfortable after they are tightened!.

Well its a long process, they make ur mouth all comfy with cotton(I LOVED THAT lol) && they basically "glue" on the lil metallic squares then put on the wore && rubber bandss!. Putting them on doesn't hurt but afterr ur teeth will b a lil sore && u won't b able to eat for like a day or 2 but to be able to BITE into food took me about 2 weeks, every1 is diff GOOD LUCKKK!. You can get ANY COLOR ever made lol(that the office offers, they have a chart) No painkillers it doesn't hurt at all its quite comfyy experienceeeeee!. DON'T BITE INTO ANYTHING, make friends with apple sauce && ice cream, be patient, at first it will b a lil wierdd cuz u have something in ur mouth but ull get used to it fast!, Enjoyyyyy && DUN CHEW GUM i havent && mine came off faster cuz Itook care off themm! =D =)Www@Answer-Health@Com
My braces hurt for my teeth for about 4 days after putting them on and after getting them adjusted every month!.
And no, painkillers are not given, nor are they really needed!.

First they apply an enamel on your teeth that smells funny, then they'll put glue on your teeth and position the brackets (doesn't hurt) then they dry it with a little purple light which might feel warm on your teeth but you can't feel a thing b/c they're dry!. Then they'll thread a wire through the brackets which might feel tight, but it really doesn't hurt!. they'll ask you what color you want (they have a ton, it's in the form of a tiny rubber band) and strap it over each bracket!. they'll clip the wire and you're done!. you might feel a little sore but just eat soft food for a while and maybe a tylenol and you'll be fine!.

5!. eat soft food for the next day or two, nothing you have to chew!.
