Anyone have advice on getting into dental school?!

Question: Anyone have advice on getting into dental school!?
I never really applied myself in highschool and then I went to community college from highschool and for the first time I actually tried!. I just got my assosiates degree in Business Administration and I was really shocked at how well I performed when I applied myself!. My GPA is a 3!.7 and I really want to fuful my childhood dream ( that I never knew I was capable of) and become a dentist!. If I would have known earlier that school would be so rewarding then I would have majored in Biology pre professional earlier, but I had no idea!.

My question is: Will it hurt my chances of getting into dental school if I stay at my community college for the first two years and then transfer to Rutgers from there to go on for my four year degree before applying to UMDNJ!? The only reason I can;t transfer now is because I missed the deadline for the application and I want to start ASAP since the process will take me 7 more years!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't think of a reason for Dental schools to deny you based on your schooling backround if you take the right classes and get good grades!. I hear they are very open to applicants with non science degrees!. Just be sure to start on your sciences as soon as possible and take the time to shadow a dentist or work in a dental office!. This will show the dental schools you apply to that you are serious about the profession!. Best of luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, a good chunk of dental schools will not accept credits earned at a community college!.

Just a little warning, though, a GPA of a 3!.5+ in science courses will be quite a bit harder to attain than those that you attained when earning your business admin!. associates degree, so you might want to check out what will actually be demanded of you; especially since dental school is pretty competitive anyhow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
