How painful is it to fill a tooth without anesthetic?!
Question: How painful is it to fill a tooth without anesthetic!?
I don't want to get the novacaine because I hate the feeling of it!. I have two weeks to decide if I want to go without it or not!.
If you've gone for a filling without novacaine, how badly did it hurt!? These are surface cavities, as far as I know!.

omgosh!. When I had it it didn't hurt until a few minutes in, until they hit my nerve!. And that hurt SO BADLY!
You should just ask for the type of freezing that they put on with a q-tip, as that wears of faster than Novocaine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It really depends on each person!. I've had patients that never get anesthetic, and they don't flinch a bit! I grind my teeth at night and I had a tiny area that I ground through the enamel!. My dentist filled it without anesthetic, and I thought it was VERY uncomfortable, and yes, painful!. I hate the feeling of being numb also, but I would definitely take that feeling over the pain of no anesthetic!.
Just in case you don't know, if you are getting a filling on the top, you won't feel like you are numb!. The one tooth that is getting the filling will feel a bit funny!. This is because the top teeth have a nerve that travels to the individual teeth!. Unlike the top, the bottom teeth have a nerve that travels along your jaw and goes into each tooth to the center of your mouth!. So when you get numb on the bottom, half your jaw goes and half your tongue!.

My dentist drilled and filled my front teeth without novacaine so that I wouldn't curse him when I tried to eat afterword!. I almost broke the arm off the chair it hurt so bad!. So please get novacaine it's far worse if you don't!. Also let me just add that I have a super high pain tolerance and that almost maybe me cry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had 8 cavities filled at one time when i was younger!. They were all small ones, but still!. I dont get novacaine because i dont like needles!. It didnt hurt me at all!. Like i said, they were small!.

When you get a filing they are drilling out the decay!. There is a good chance they will hit a nerve when they do this!. This is extremely painful!. You would be much better off getting the novacaine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you have low tolerance for pain, I wouldn't suggest it!. It's definitely bearable though if you're getting just one or two surface cavities!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I would definitly recomend using anesthetic!. I've done it both ways, no anesthetic hurts alot more than with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
